Is that picture real? That cat does not know what it's in for! Love all the captures today! Thanks to everyone! Very clever with the eggs in the nest. |

Is it just me, or do others have a preference for names for the eagles that are different or unusual from regular "human" names? I recall when they named the two Saanich eaglets Victoria and Sidney - I didn't dislike those names at all or think they were poor choices, but I always liked names that were the names of mythical creatures, or things like that. Partly because those seem to fit the majestic bald eagle so well, and partly because I like the name to emphasize that they're eagles, not human beings, and we should always acknowledge that they are different. Cruz is a cool name because it's different and special but at the same time it's not really a "human" name either. |

Guess not, Eagle D. We just get over-the-top sometimes. We should wait until we have actual babies and/or nests to name. |

Hi all. Just finished up another day of packin' and stackin' boxes. I'm down to the kitchen, which I'll start on tomorrow. Read all the posts and the update, it is a great way to end the day. HB: the cat and eagle picture was great. Well, I'm about done in, so I'll sign off. Good night dear friends, have a pleasant evening. K-OZ: Just saw your note on yesterday's post about doggy dramamine. Is it a product called Ace? (short for acepromozine I think). My vet perscribes that for Bixby B and on long trips it's really great. Knocks him out for the drive, but on the down side it takes him most of the day for the grogginess to wear off. Also, I have to dose him 1-2 hours before the trip starts. So it's not a good solution for short trips to the vet or groomer. Let me know the name of the product you mentioned, and I'll check with my vet on it. Thanks for the tip. I'm always looking for ways to deal with his car sickness. It is so bad he starts foaming at the mouth if he even walks into the garage. |

Hi Bixby, I hope the packing is going well but I do not envy you that task! At least your payoff will be great. I feel so sorry for Bixby B and his car sickness. I'm sure one or several of the amazing board members here will offer something that may help. But if the poor boy is already psyching himself up when he enters the garage, maybe he needs some doggie hypnosis! Good night to you and yours.... |

It used to be that way here before and will be again in a few weeks. Until then, I'll make my daily trek to Hemet for the sake of the grandkids. Hulabird - I loved the eagle rescue story. Wish we lived closer to Colorado. We'd be there to see it released! Cockney2/Hulabird - what a great picture of the eagle and the cat. I too have to wonder if it's real or doctored. Cumbrian - Wonderful captures of the visitor on the Santa Cruz nest! Also....it did look like the eagle landed on the first on the West End nest, but I think it landed just in front of her. There were 2 flashes of it landing, but I got so excited when I saw it I only managed to capture one....or maybe I should say I was 'lucky enough' to capture one! ElaineRuth & Patti - What graphics program do you use? p.s. Princess Leyla is spending the night again tonight, so I may be up again in the middle of the night again! |

I'm not sure if the cat vs eagle picture is doctored or not. It was sent to me by a friend. Thanks for posting it Hulabird. |
