Ojailala: maybe this is where you got your 200,000+ number that you read:

"So far, some 159,281 acres have burned, making it the largest fire in the county since a 1932 blaze charred 220,000 acres, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection."

Animated fire map: this is kind of interesting to get some perspective as to what direction the fire went and how it started out slow and then went WHOOSHHH!

Just click on Animated Map and then keep clicking on Next Fire Map until it starts over:

Hulabird: Is there a step by step procedure for backing up the entire computer? I back up my individual accounting files all the time onto discs but is there a procedure for backing up everything in one fell swoop? If so....just post the answer on the Tech thread, please.

I'm keeping a bit of an eye on the WE & Sc nests, but it looks quiet each time I look up. Hope I haven't missed anything on the WE nest. Very easy to do. Drat.

Glad you were able to hike, OH!

Love your photo, HulaB!

Back to work.....

Hula Bird, where will I find the Tech thread, please? I would be interested in looking up the back-up procedure. I keep a lot of things on disks but can't seem to use the backup on CD's.

Thanks

PP - Thanks for the fire map. It gave me a better idea of the area. I had no idea where Lockwood Valley was - now I do. Thanks.

The Two Harbors nest is working again and upon closer inspection and overlaying the two screen shots, yesterday's shot was just nestful thinking. :o

Here is a very good site describing the nest and answering many of the questions about how the nest selection is handled.

Good thing I'm not an Air Traffic Controller. Boy, I've missed everything today.

My 2H nest screen looks much more clear! Do you think Peter cleaned it today? I didn't realize my 2H web cam was working until I checked these recent posts. It was down this a.m.

Back to work--and I'm afraid I'm not good for captures today...doing detailed paperwork. Phooey!
