Big, big thunderstorm with very high winds, etc. Closing down for the night (don't want this thing to fry)! |

Good question, Hulabird! I was wondering the same thing...should we NOT watch the Catalina nests all day long? |

The eagle is gone on the West End nest now. The late afternoon sun was playing havoc with the camera, so you barely see a head at the top of the nest:![]() On the Santa Cruz nest, however, the sun did its magic with the triangles. Does anyone ever get tired of seeing them? I got a suprise with them tonight too! They appeared shortly after the raven left according to schedule: ![]() Then slowly fading out into nothing: ![]() When I looked a few minutes later, they were back! Am I the only one who didn't know they came twice in an evening? ![]() ![]() When they faded out this time, they were gone for today. |

Beautiful photos, ED! Uh, do you only download one Photobucket (or whatever program) image at a time? I don't seem to be able to jump from Chil back into Photobucket--so when I download Photobuckets images, I download them all at the same time. When I paste into Chil, they all come in together, as if I don't have much of a choice about it. I must be doing something wrong. I have added photos after posting, but they still seem to stack. Rats. |

Thanks to Eagle Duo ("the man in black") and Nancy for the GREAT links that further add to our knowledge base!! (Though I think I was better off NOT knowing that such a high percentage of fledglings don't make it when attempting their first flight - now we just have to worry about the first winter... but our girl is in Southern California (at least, for now) and NOT in Maine or Alaska and is she is strong and tenacious and has bright yellow feet. )

I just learned something from you, Patti! I've been copying and pasting my URL's in one at a time. Didn't know I could do them all at once. That'll save me a lot of work and time! Thank you! As for your question, I'm not as good at explaining Photobucket as Cumbrian. She understands it a lot better than I do. I'm more like the bumblebee that flies cuz he's never been told he can't fly. I don't wanna confuse you any more than I already have. Cumbrian....help!!!

My daughter went out the front door this morning, on her way to wash her horse Shorty for upcoming weekend competition. She SCREAMED. We all ran, there was a 4' python next to the front door. I called my Wildlife Warrior who grabbed two rakes and carried it across the road to the bush. I wasnt quick enough to take a photo, adrenalin doesnt make you think about things like that! hooweee.
