Good morning "neast coasters". I got up to finish the dinner roll from Baker's Square so I thought it would be an excellent opportunity to start the new thread. Now I'm going back to bed. :P

Eagle Duo...that hardly seems fair. Just because I needed chocolate chip cookie at 4:30 I thought I would start the thread! Oh well, missed the boat again.

I didn't get a change to post yesterday at all. I felt like a little rat in a cage in one of those exercise wheels. The hurry er I went the more I stayed in one place. Didn't seem to accomplish much of anything.

Hope everyone is fine...I think our fire is almost out. It has certainly cooled down considerably and feels very much like fall....Boo Hoo. It is supposed to rain by Tuesday.

Guess I'll go back to bed too. See you later

good morning all - as to house cleaning, I reccntly saw a list of tips - the one that I'm going to follow - "don't dust any higher than your tallest friend!" works for me! I used to tell my mom if that dusty window sill bothered her, go right ahead an dust it - I'm going outside and finding something more important to do ----- like take a hike, go camping, have some FUN!

later

It's raining here in Santa Maria, very lightly, but better than nothing. Maybe we will get more later in the day. That would be wonderful,. It would help with the fire to the south and clean up our air a bit.

Good Morning all....Fall is for sure in the air. Saw the return of the golden crown sparrow for the first time. Those little guys signify the start of fall for sure. There will be more to come I know. They say we could have rain up here on Tuesday. Now comes the decision to haul in the patio furniture or not. I did that in the late spring, back and forth as the weather could not make up its mind.

Dave nothing like a little inner peace at that hour of the morning to help with going back to sleep ;) Good idea!

Have to do my chores today since I played all day yesterday <_<
I will check in later.

Boy we sure have some early birds on this site! I was awake at 3 a.m. too - guess I should have jumped online!
I LOVE FALL!!! We've had great weather this weekend - lots of rainy looking clouds, but no rain. It's time to start nesting for the winter :)

Good morning all! All that physical work yesterday made me sleep until SIX-THIRTY this morning. I don't think I've EVER slept in that late in my life. Sheesh. And with your dinner roll Dave, and Sandie's chocolate chip cookie for a breakfast of champions, I had my usual ice cold diet pepsi in one gulp.

If Woody ever wakes up, we'll be gone ALL day so asking for my permission slip now.

Have a great day everybody. Happy to hear the fires are getting under control.

I'm taking Harpo's advice and getting out of here today and having some fun even though my beloved 8 lb Oreck is beckoning me.

Nancy, I'm going to do a goodsearch on the golden crown sparrow. I don't think I've ever seen one and they sound like a pretty bird.

Good morning! I had to laugh at Dave and Sandie; the jump on starting the day's thread.

It's overcast here, and I hope we do have rain this week. Going to mom's soon to visit with my elder uncle, her baby brother.

Can't get the WE nest to open and the 2H nest said NO VIDEO. Maybe later....

Nancy, one of my neighbors up the hill said she sees birds with green on the wings---not a parrot type bird---up here. I think I've seen it in my pine tree, but haven't seen it in weeks, since the babies fell out of the nest. Ugh! My husband found the babies covered with ants....about 7-8 weeks ago. Donna sees them from above, coming down the hill...I don't have that view. I see the underside, but notice a drab green area.

Dave/Jann or anybody, can somebody refresh me on "the man in black"? I must have missed that in one of my more "spirit"-ual moments.

Patti- Congratulations on making the 1000 club!

Ummmmm, yoooohooo, Darrell. Yesterday was the end of the contest. Can we get a drumroll please?

Patti...hmmm that's a hard one for me to figure out. Got out my Sibley, but I would need more info. Like size and some behavior. Not sure what you guys have down in your area. I will keep searching for ya. Bird ID is a lot like forensics, it is the process of elimination to come to the conclusion. Keep looking up start with the shape of their bills, that is always what helps me to begin with.
Let me know

On Thursday's thread after Jann explained she types in blue and I type in black, Joanie dubbed me "the man in black". I kind of like it. B)

We're heading out in a little bit to celebrate my dad's birthday. Getting our permission slips ahead of time. :D

What big plans do you have today, Hulabird, that you needed to ask for a permission slip?

The Total just for the month of September was $38.35 :D

That's really good!

I have forgotten my numbers, but it seems that revenue from GoodSearch alone should be enough (or almost) to sponsor a nest for 2008!

Are there members of this board who are not yet searching with GoodSearch giving credit to the IWS?

If so, please consider using it as often as possible!

Are there any other people or groups we can enlist in helping us on GoodSearch?

Just checked in with the nests and found 3 black birds looking for remnants on the West End nest. Means I possibly missed eagles eating there earlier. Hopefully we'll catch them next time!
