Guess they won't be asking, "Which way did she go?" Glad she made her visit when she did....cameras are all off for the evening.....although I don't think the Two Harbors camera was on all day, was it? Dr. Sharpe wasn't replacing it today, was he? p.s. The sun sure looked pretty as it set over the ocean, didn't it? |

Hulabird - I just figured out what you needed your permission slip for. The news tonight said this rain had moved in from Hawaii. Mighty thoughty of you to arrange that. They also said the day fire would be 100% contained by 6 pm tomorrow and the retardant dropping helicopter that crashed had a good ending also, no one on the ground or the two pilots were hurt. Great day all around. Bee |

Haven't contributed much here and now I've got to get off. Son-in-law starts new job tomorrow (out of town) so he will be bringing the 9 mo. old over at about 6 am and then Katie arrives about 7:20 am. So it will be a full day, esp. after I pick up Emily and Heather from their respective schools and help with the homework. Oy, I just tuckered myself out!  'Nite all and sleep slow. xxxoox ![]() |

I wish I understood why my WE nest cam was frozen into two positions today. There were a handful of times I did get a live empty nest which remained frozen, only to revert to 15:33:28 hour once again. I refreshed the screen, but nothing could get it going today. Phooey. I hope today was a fluke, not a pattern of what's to come. Guess I'd better call it a day. Goodnight all. Please read Peppermint's question titled Santa Rosa Island under What Are Your Questions. Peter has anwsered it---it's been several days now---and you will not be happy with the response. I've already emailed the National Park Service asking about the ammunition to be used in the Santa Rosa Island hunting season. Please read that thread if you have time. It's a pretty important topic. Maybe you've already discussed it here and I've missed it, but worthy of being brought up again. Thanks! ER, your girls are beautiful!

I checked the Two Harbors nest on & off all day and it said NO VIDEO every time, so I don't think it timed out.....maybe it was 'tired out'? |

I've been noticing the video getting worse and worse at the Two Harbors nest. The batteries are likely low at one of the links and running solely off the solar panels. We were overcast all day, so the battery charge probably never got high enough to run the camera and/or transmitters. It will be a few weeks before I have time to get to that system. |

Thank you all for the wonderful pix today, just like old times with our feathered friends in the lime light again. I sure miss all that eagle action, I'll be glad when our nest is active again! ER, your girls are beautiful, thanks for sharing that great photo. Well, about time to say: Good night all, have a pleasant evening. |

Whewwwwwwwww....well I am FINALLY all caught up with the posts since yesterday!! What a great and busy group we have. CarolAnn: sorry....Moorpark beat us...but it was a hardfought game. We were ahead until just before the end of the first half. Ended up losing 37-20. My son was not mad this time...he said they were a realllllllly good team...they are ranked #6 in the state. SBCC held on to its perfect record.....0-5 now....sighhhh. Next week is a bye week...time for some rest. I woke up to the sound of rain here this morning. We must have gotten more than the rest of you that checked in. It actually rained most of the day, off and on. I'm not sure we got very much in quantity but it was a very welcome sound....and quite tropical feeling. I was imagining a big loud roaring CHEER from the firefighters as the rain reached them....sure hope it did...gotta watch the 11pm news to find out. Can't wait to hear the final numbers of our nest donations. In true bookkeeper style, my final donation went in yesterday on deadline day. What's that slogan? "If it weren't for deadlines, nothing would get done around here". Ok...gotta go check to see what's been posted while I've been catching up and reading. |
