Good morning everyone. It is pouring, thundering and lightening here in Toronto but everything else is great. Deb, don't know how much rent has been collected so we better work on that. I love the photo of that little eaglet, so precious. Will have a busy day today as my 2 teenage grandkids will be visiting from the USA, so won't be able to check in as often. Will catch up when everyone is in bed tonight. Good luck to all the kitty people. Have a great day all  |

Have you all been watching the news about the hate group from Kansas going to demonstrate at the funerals for the Amish children? I am so sickened by this. How can people be so hateful. I understand the importance of free speech, but sometimes it gets carried too far. This has really disgusted me. |

no didn't know - like this quiet peaceful community of people haven't suffered enough in the past several days - certainly my thoughts and prayers to the families of those children and to that community! I have visited there many times ... they are wonderful people! edit: "Pennsylvania's bill would make it a third-degree misdemeanor to stage a demonstration within 500 feet of any commemorative service, including funeral processions and viewings, within one hour of the event. The legislation's definition of prohibited demonstrations include picketing, speech, use of sound-amplification devices, display of signs and banners, and distribution of leaflets or handbills that are not part of the commemorative service." 500 fee isn't very far to me ..... come on legislators.... |

I hadn't heard either. That is horrible. Why? I cannot understand such hate either. Hopefully it's $500 per person, though even that is not nearly enough. My heart and prayers go out to those people too. Dave was on a jury dealing with a hate crime a few years ago. Some of the stories he told me (afterwards) about the families of the defendants were sick. The deliberations of the jury weren't a lot better. Dave's sound head and ability to verbalize literally kept them on track and justice was served. Can't tell how proud of him I was/am, can you? On a happier note, Naturegal, have a wonderful time with your grandkids! How long will they be visiting?

Good morning all. I just posted Hulabird's lame adventure photos from Sunday on the Everything Else pics thread. Don't waste your bandwidth. And if you do, I don't want to hear any complaining. |

Good Morning...looks like I forgot to sign out yesterday. I also see something going on with the IWS website, but got through on the other link: http://media1.vcoe.org/eaglecam1 Newer members may not have this link. I learned this morning that my bird hero, Larry, has passed away. He was the man who inspired me and many other parrot people to act when we saw a problem. I first read about Larry last December--and he later came to be a friend though e-mail. Some people in the Pierce County, Washington, laughed at him--and ridiculed him. He became a friend to many parrot people all over the USA in the last year of his life. God be with you, Larry. You were a messenger. Now the angels will be smiling with you. Hope everybody has a good day. I'm more determined than ever to help keep our eagles on Santa Rosa Island out of harm's way. This is for Larry and for my deceased little Zuni. I hope you taught me how to fight for you. Larry knew how proud I was to have him as my friend. |

My sympathy to you, Patti, for your loss.... Let us know some more about this man and his mission. And speaking of bird activists, where is Skellis these days? |
