I'm back. Whew I fell asleep with all my might and laid there like a log for several hours. Probably all the housework yesterday. Oz, falling apart at the seams is an expression I use when the house is messy. It seems like it always is and keeping it up is a never ending battle. ![]() Bea, those pictures are all beautiful. You crack me up how you keep "threatening" to go to bed and then there's one more picture. LOL MaMiMoBaMom, if you can't build up "antibodies" at Chuck E Cheese, I don't know where else you could. What a germ pit. You should keep a bottle of hand sanitizer with you. A BIG one. That's an educational trip you have planned today. I would have never thought of that. |

Good Morning to all~~ Harpo is off on her trip, having a great time. Bea- Your photos were wonderful when double-clicked. Wow, those eagle talons. Can you imagine what that would feel like Hulabird- I don't know how you do it with so little shut-eye. Wish I could do the same and live life to the fullest! MaMiMoBa- I remember Chuck E Cheese, but not sure I've seen one in a long time. I have the thing about kid's hands, too. Germ-Fests. Eagle Duos- Wonderful that you donate blood and great role-modeling for the grandchildren. Ojai Hikers- A very happy ending for Kava. Those stories are the kind that need to be shared more often. Edit:- I never log off during the day (and sometime overnight  ) because I'm hoping for nest visitors. So, I'll be logged on all day. I'm too lazy to log in and out. |

Just saw the IWS hoodie in the IWS site and it's really nice--also the kind my parrots will snatch and puncture any chance they can. Have other parrot people noticed that sweatshirts are a priority target item, or is it just mine? I don't think I'm going to be able to resist this hoodie. |

Too hot here for hoodies, especially inside with my birds. But I do want to mention that I got the cap yesterday and it is very good quality. Not flimsey like an ordinary ball cap. I'm still going to buy a hoodie anyway since I'm going to PA in November. Maybe I can meet up for lunch with MaMiMoBaMom. |

Hulabird, I'm not noticing trouble with SC nest today. but have seen some minor weird stuff this last week. I often have trouble with the WE nest, yet it looks ok today. I've been doing laundry today, so may have missed the trouble on WE nest. It generally freezes on me fairly often, which is why I'd hate to be the only person watching it. Jann, I forgot to tell you how nice your WE nest sunset caption was yesterday. I missed that--but it was running well yesterday. I ordered the hoodie. My husband got a big grin when I told him there's an IWS sweatshirt. I asked him if the hoodie could be my 20th wedding anniversary gift--in late November. I'll start wearing it immediately. It's already cool in the a.m.'s and evenings here. I really cannot wear this anywhere near the cockatoos. Wrecking my clothes seems to be their passion. Hubby sold a sculpture and is going to purchase another expensive ceramics kiln, so I figured I could get a sweatshirt out of it. The timing was right.Edit: I corrected my typo of "mest" --a real typo, but think I'll add it to the Cruzinary as the state of the Santa Cruz nest following breeding season. |

Patti, mest, that is so funny. Definately put it in the Cruzinary! Jann, yes, I too forgot to mention the beautiful sunset you captured at the WE nest yesterday. No luck so far on finding motion detection screen capture software. The do have it for webcams but so far its only for your own webcam so you can for instance catch a burglar in your house. Maybe I just need a big hard drive to hook up to my USB port and let it capture every 2-3 seconds or so. I finally got back on SC nest. I had to reinstall Windows Media Player. |

So sorry I have been away from this, my "home". It's aways some sort of computer crisis around here. But, thanks to our resident "House Calls Techie", Hulabird, all is good now. (for the time being). As to the explosions; that is about 1 to 1-1/2 hours from here. Really awful. They thought they would have the fires out yesterday and they are still going today. And since it is a chemical plant, the firefighters can't get to where they need to be due to hazardous vapors. I've been on this machine all day so I don't know if people have been allowed to go home. It involved close to 17,000 people evacuated. Many without their meds. or their pets. Here is more up-to-date info: http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2006-1...re_x.htm?csp=34 |

SC nest looks overcast to me, unless I've already missed the triangle. Been out shopping. I checked Mesowest and at 5 pm, it was already 62 degrees--Del Norte Station. Looks cold there right now. Nice nest capture, Cumbrian~~Little Visitor in Blue Back to chores. Edit: Have added a view of WE nest--just taken.

Okay, here I go again. I have a link on my desktop that takes me directly to our Cruz' nest and one to the Maine nest. But I can't get a direct link to the West End nest and the Two Harbors nest. Does anyone have a direct link to those nests and can you post them here so that I can just do a Save to the link and save it to my desktop. Thanks |

I think this should take you directly to the West End nest. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. A lot like kids, so you should be used to that. http://www.iws.org/bald_eagles/westend%20cam.html Here's one for the Two Harbors nest, although it hasn't been working the past week. I think Dr. Sharpe said it would be another week or two before they'd be getting out to fix/replace the camera. http://www.iws.org/bald_eagles/twoharbors%20cam.html |
