Ummm.... nope. they go to the web page with the cam and all the information. On my desktop I have Cruz's nest with an .asx extension. Ditto for the Maine nest. For the life of me, I can't remember how I saved it with it's extension instead of the http ot html. But it is great. When I click on them they open directly with the viewer. In fact, I changed the program it opened with to WinAmp because it has a much smaller frame and takes up a lot less room in my window. hmmmm.... I just had an idea. Be right back. BAK: Nope...... I can't even get it to open with a Viewer. Just have to watch the entire web page. How do we open them with MediaPlayer?? |

Thanks Jann. So when you want to check in on the nests, you have to watch them on the IWS web page? We'll have to find out how we originally opened Cruz' cam with MediaPlayer. Thanks again.

That one's easy. Even I can do that one. To make a long story short, it goes thru different channels with a different output and it made to run on the media player. The Catalina nests are not. |

My SCI nest automatically opens in Windows Media Player. The Maine nest automatically opens in Real Player. I watch the other two right there at the IWS site. Saanich also opens in Windows Media Player. It just depends on how the cam owner has set it up. |

Yeah...it's true...I'm here for a moment, just checking to see what all of you are up to, and what's been happening on the board... Hmmm...it would be kind of hard to post results from a raffle that hasn't been held yet...remember...it's next weekend...or should I say "nest" weekend. With Dr Sharpe on Santa Cruz and the extra time we had to make sure that all of the late donations are accounted for, I am waiting on a final grand total. I should have that available in the "nest" couple of days and again when I know, I will let all of you know. I will be posting information on the part 3 thread as it becomes available. Dinner is almost ready and I'm going to run, but I will be in touch soon. Stay Tuned for Updates... D

Hello nest buddies, Just got done catching up on all of today's posts. Chuck E. Cheese wasn't so bad after all. It was actually just me and Michael, so, it turned out to be a pleasant afternoon. Michael was in his glory! This is only the second "friend" birthday party that he's been to. He's just so much fun to watch...taking everything in, learning, exploring, socializing,... I just love watching children enjoy life! This is where he wants to have his first "friend" party too. He'll turn five in December, so, it should turn out to be one of the most memorable times of his life! Glad to see Eagle D back in the nest...and Aline as well. Hulabird, when will you be in Pa. in November? |

Hi all. Back from a day with my son to celebrate his birthday. We had a great day and the weather was very pleasant. We drove down to Palo Alto (for those of you who don't know where that is. It is near Stanford University) to view the glass pumpkin patch. What a neat thing. All hand blown glass pumpkins in various shapes colors and sizes. They actually have them all over the ground. Very beautiful. We didn't purchase any as they were not in our budget and we decided that we would rather have a few beers instead  and a nice lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Not like Chuckie Cheese. Boy do I remember those days. I hated to go there too. Then when I got home I had a pleasant surprise. My hoodie had arrived! It is very nice and good quality I might add. I got a large, just because I can wear it over a bulky sweater if needed. The logo is beautiful. Just in time for those fall walks. So hurry on up and order yours! Don't be left out on this fashionable sweatshirt and be the first on your block to have one Oreo is doing much better that collar comes off on Monday Yeah!

Elaine - this is one link to the three nests (might be the same one you got since it is IWS). Santa Cruz opens in Windows Media Player. http://www.iws.org/ http://www.pitt.edu/~dziadosz/ (another one if you don't want to use the one above although it is the same one) This one opens the Maine cam in Media Player http://www.pitt.edu/~dziadosz/ Bee |
