CarolAnn, Yes it is just like the U.S one......a holiday and most people get together with family/friends for a meal.....usually Turkey....and celebrate/say what they are thankful for in their lives.

Hi all, am back from my cruise, had a great time, but came back with a bad cold and an inner ear infection. I will try to get back on line tomorrow after I get all my catch-up done. Thanks for keeping the lights on.

Have a wonderful thanksgiving our Canadian friends, and add Cruz to your list of things to be thankful for. I am adding her to mine.

In memory of Larry Gallawa. Today marks one week since Larry passed away.

When Speling Doesn't Really Matter: In Praise of Larry Gallawa, Triumphant at Last -- by Dr. Stewart Metz

http://www.parrotprotection.org/en/Project...39;tMatterR.pdf

The eulogy reads very quickly, although a bit long. Stewart spoke the truth. Dr. Stoo--as in cockatoo, is one of the most honorable men I've ever "email" known. He's as wonderful as Dr. Sharpe, but comes in a different package. :P

Tomorrow I'll light my beeswax taper in honor of Larry and the my friends attending the Pierce County Council meeting. ~~For Larry~~

I think Dr. Sharpe is working on the cam. The lighting changed and saw the picture move a couple times.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING AND PSEUDO COLUMBUS DAY!!! I wish they hadn't changed all the holidays to Mondays. The new camera angle...well....I don't like change very much so I'll have to get used to it. I'm with ER about wondering how well we'll see the bowl. It would be VERY helpful if Mom and Dad would come to the nest so we could try on the new look.....yoooohoooo....calling #10 and #26!!

I'm thinking we might have to rename the branches so new folks don't get confused. Something like...lower branch, middle branch, and upper branch? What do y'all think?

Maybe the scrubs were checking out the drainage hole in the bottom of the bowl? We need a good rain to thoroughly wash the nest and let it drain before renestruction begins.

Very foggy/overcast still here this morning. Yesterday was such a GORgeous day..spent all afternoon weeding and pruning and transplanting. Made a small dent in the amount of work needing to be done around my own nest!

Canadian friends: Are you all getting together with family/friends for a big feast today?

Trader Joes....I had the BEST chicken enchilada from TJ the other day...going back for more tomorrow.

Bee: LOVE that photo...I need a laptop.

Hedi: Congratulations on your move...I love it up there. Camping at McKerricher State Park is a pretty great place.

That's about as caught up as I can get right now!

Happy Thanksgiving to Canada.

Patti, that was a moving eulogy. Think if he was still around helping you guys tackle the lead issue on Santa Rosa.

Welcome back Skellis. You have to fill us in on your cruise. Also, hope you post lots of pics when you're feeling better. Sorry you brought back a little more than you bargained for.

Woody is off for Columbus Day today. And me...I'm just off.

We have an angel overlooking our nest

LOL Hula! Leave it to you to "see" things ;) . But I like the idea of having an angel watching over our nest.

The camera is now centered on the nest bowl area and we should be able to get some excellent shots of any activity. I'm able to zoom in about 22 times optical magnification and 220 times digital magnfication with the camera than is now set up. The zoom is currently at about 10 or 11 times magnification.

I don't think the hole people are seeing is actually in the nest, but rather through sticks that have fallen over from the nest (now barely in frame in the lower right corner). The previous camera angle made it difficult to tell what was what. The actual nest looked pretty stable yesterday and just needs some sticks added/moved around the edges and grass placed in the center. They better use this nest again after all the trouble of moving the camera.

LOL Dr. Sharpe. That's funny!
But seriously, do you have any doubts on that? One of the two has made a couple stops there recently, so I am hoping they're getting ready to use the nest again. Hope, hope, hope.......
