Good morning all! Life - any life - is precious and should be valued for every moment that it happens and hopefully that life was lived in the way that it should have been experienced and I think A-61 showed us that it is always possible if we reach deep enough and high enough!

I am leaving this morning to be in Ohio with family and especially with my mom while she is having some medical tests but I will be here in spirit - for sure!

Good luck to all - be well to all - Later :)

Have a safe trip to Ohio AND enjoy the drive! Are you driving? If so, it should be spectacular views with the fall foliage! I hope everything goes well with your mother's tests too. I'm keeping my wings crossed. If I had a tatoo, I'd say I'd keep my tagged wings crossed! :P

I guess Tasha got her snow after all! 10 + inches in Buffalo, New York...155,000 people left without power...yikes!!

We had frost here overnignt...my poor impatiens and portulacas are now officially done for the season.

Yes, winter is coming, whether I'm ready or not!

Good morning to all. It's cold, windy, and partly cloudy here in Big Bear. Local news says a storm is on the way.

Deb: safe trip and good luck to your mom.

A-61: soring mighty and free at the Rainbow Bridge.

To all: have a good Friday the 13th! (knock on wood)

Good morning to all.

West End camera is trying to come on. Must not be getting enough light for the solar powered system yet. Hope it gets enough light later to let us watch the nest's activities. Santa Cruz nest is still partially shaded as the sun rises over the crest.

Looks like there's a raven on the West End nest. The camera is still struggling to come on, so it's hard to tell, but it looks like it's picking at nestovers.

I am sad about A-61 too. Fly free, big bird.

We had a little rain here at 5 a.m. -- ground is still wet, so it may have watered the garden.

Skellis--Joy was almost back to normal last night. Once in a great while she'll regurgitate a little food. Yesterday a.m. I discovered a little of this, but her droppings were scant and started to look that translucent (not good) dark green color. As the day wore on, the poops improved, but she didn't eat much. She was playing on the bottom of her cage later last night and came back to "life," but was quiet all day. It wasn't until my dog came in the house early evening that Joy really perked up. She told the dog she was cute. She doesn't seem to be "panting" at me now--which I'd prefer, yet it also seems a little odd. Joy has a habit of eating food at night. There was a good amount of normal poop on her papers this morning. I have also heard one (or both?) of her parents crunching on pellet late after dark. She really hasn't shown any of that pre-egg-laying positioning--only the panting.

Deb--know you're going to Ohio and hope it isn't stressful for you--and that there's some fun.

Good Morning everyone...A bit on the cool cloudy side up here in Northern California. Looks like rain. Today is Friday the 13th, but if you are Italian like me 13 is a lucky number.

Today is my last day taking care of Buddy the cockatiel. We had a nice 10 days and I taught him to whistle "Clean up clean up everybody do their share" My aunt will return tonight and I'm sure Buddy will be happy to see her. He really is a sweet bird and very protective as well.

Hope that everyone has a good day and end Friday safely. Best wishes to all who are traveling and have a safe journey.
Talk with you soon.

Good Morning All.

Harpo/Deb......safe journey and hope all goes well with mom's tests.

CarolAnn......thank you for sharing about the rainbow. I feel if we look for answers sometimes they come in unexpected ways. The rainbow has always been one of the visual ways that God shows us how he cares.

Patti.....glad to hear that Joy is doing ok.

Bea.......that was a beautiful picture that Ralph did.

The WE nest still having problems, not coming on. Our nest looks.....well, empty.....

Have a safe day everyone.

Good rainy day everyone. I'm finding the rain rather comforting...but then I love rain! I think the West End nest is in mourning today. I hope everyone is feeling a bit better this morning. I'll be lurking while I do payrolls.

We just had a brief visit from a jay and the colors on him were very clear. I sure do love this new nest view.

Edited to add you have to wait for a few minutes before you can watch the video. I hate youtube. Does anybody remember the other place I put some videos?

While you wait, here is a video of the Saanich nest. For those who didn't watch this nest last year, at around the 3:20 mark you will get a sample of what we'll be hearing when we get sound on our nest. I LOVE that call.
