There is an eagle on the West End Nest, but the video keeps going off so I can't get a photo. Will keep trying. HB - loved Harley so I just e-mailed it to my grandkids who will enjoy it. Thanks. |

A couple shots of the eagle on the West End nest. Not very good pics, but you can tell there's an eagle there with wingblings.

Thanks for the wing up Naturegal. This is the best I can get. Maybe WE can borrow Cruz's old camera. On second thought, after seeing Dave Garcelon and Dr Sharpe making the treck up to that nest in The Eagles of Catalina video, I would be scared to ask him.

Hulabird, thanks for posting Harley's video. I had actually seen this when it was first on the news about a week or so back, but had to watch it again. Gonna go check out Cumbrian's videos now. Edit: Oops, meant Your other videos posted below Harley link. |

HB - After reading all your posts and watching all your videos, photos, etc. I think you are a pretty gutsy gal and I could see you dangling from the helicoptor taking all kinds of pictures, without the help of Dave or Peter    |

It's moved to the back of the nest now and appeared to be working on the nest and now looking out over the ocean. At least that's what it looks like to me through the zig zags.

There is no chance in my world of even flying IN a helicopter much less dangle FROM one. When I first saw the good doctor doing that on the video, I stood up, ran to the TV and physically held my arms up to catch him if he fell. OMG, what bravery. Woody and I got married on July 4th and since we hardly ever go anyplace (by choice) we never go see the fireworks. (Now we can watch from the back yard.) But at this one house we used to live, you could see them as if you were there from the roof. So I climbed up the ladder and realized what a stupid thing I had just done. It took Woody several hours to coax me back down. He threatened to call the fire department and it was out of sheer embarrassment that I was able to return to terra firma. I am deathly afraid of heights which is going to have to be resolved in my next life if I'm going to be a wildlife biologist. |

You did see two eagles briefly at the West End nest, Cheryl. ![]() And then there was one again. Hope the camera is able to get enough light to give us a better picture soon. |

Loved the videos, Hulabird....especially the one of Harley! What an amazing and heartwarming story story. Gotta send that one to my sister-in-law. My brother was an avid Harley enthusiast, as are their sons. Know they'll all love this story. |

I'd send it to my son if he even had an email account. This is MY son? He must have been switched at birth. I can't believe there is anyone left that doesn't so much as have a computer. He's a huge Harley enthusiast. |
