If you look at the tiger cam, momma seems to be very aggitated right now. That space just doesn't look big enough to me.

Nevermind, it must have been lunchtime because now they aren't there. Must have a different area for feeding.

Thanks for the Tiger cam.....love those tigers! My friend will love the Panda cam.....if she hasn't already got it. Thanks for the links.

There were two ravens at the WE nest just a few mins ago. Took a capture but not worth printing!

Oh, Jann--I didn't sign up for the trip--and hate to say it, but maybe it's a good thing. Early Tuesday evening I tripped over my dog who got underfoot in the garage. I feel ok, but my knee & elbow are still sore. They must be bruised on the inside, or whatever happens? It triggered a lot of my stupid (moderate) fibromyalgia symptoms and I'm good for nothing except for my brain--and taking care of these birds everyday. The weather changes add to the symptoms, so it's a combinationn of things that are making me feel more decrepit than usual. To look at me, you wouldn't know it, except for my white hair (by choice, too lazy to color it & roots freak me out). I don't take meds for fibro, because honestly, much of the time I don't have all these pains, but it has piled on me since Tuesday's fall.

I love my dog so much, but I did yell at her. She's aggressive--part Chinese Shar-Pei, a dumped puppy we rescued in 1999 at my husband's Los Angeles art studio. She was a very mean puppy, but changed her ways a long time ago. She has nice thick red fur, not the shabby Shar-Pei coat. Hubby is leaving for Chicago on Thursday, so I've got all these chores to deal with until he returns. I'll be rolling out of bed at the time you'll be leaving the dock. I'm used to my limitations, but this fall knocked me for a loop & I'm more tired than usual. It could be a LOT worse; no complaints. This was my third garage accident in slightly over one year. I'm beginning to get creeped out in there.

These birds ARE NOT going to chomp into this hoodie. :(

You would recognize me because I do have hawk-like features. Not eagle, but maybe Red-tail hawk or falcon-ish. I see it in a bridesmaid photo from 30 years ago, with my hair parted down the middle and pulled back in a bun or ponytail, I guess. I looked like a bird. I didn't know Randi's uncle was taking the photo. I was looking aside at something--maybe for my dinner! A little squirrel or something!

Where's the baby tiger? I just see Mama pacing around and a bunch of people watching her. That enclosure does look small, doesn't it?

Had such high hopes for the West End nest today. Got some real psychedelic colors a few minutes ago with what I think (and I use this term loosely) might be a raven!

Awwwww......Patti. I do understand, but we'll sure miss you there. So sorry to hear about your fall. Dogs (and cats too) do have a way of not getting out of the way fast enough. Many times I've nearly tripped over both of them.....and the grandkids too, now that I think about it. :P

A couple years ago I'd never heard of fibromyalgia, but now it's popping up all over. Several of my closest friends have it. Like you, they know their limitations, but don't let it slow them down much. At least we've got your brain! :D

You take care and we'll be thinking about you along with the others that aren't able to make it while we're over there exploring and taking pictures. Maybe you can make the spring trip everyone is talking about already?

Question for anyone.

If 10 and 26 do not come back to their nest, would another pair of eagles use it?

Hello LB! How have you been?

I really don't know the answer to your question, but my guess would be that another eagle pair could possibly make it their home?
It's a good question. Why don't you post it in the "What are your Questions" forum, and we will get an answer from an expert.

Regarding the mercury issue, I must admit, have not looked at the links yet (wanted to catch up on posts first), but I wanted to show you the following site

http://www.gotmercury.org/

The calculater allows you to see how much mercury you are consuming by eating certain fish. Will now go look at links. Thanks!

Yeah, Jann, it could be a LOT worse. I'm looking forward to all the photos.

Wow, the SC nest is really moving now...I wonder how windy it is out there? Maybe I'll Mesowest it.

Also Jann, a tiny favor. Whenever somebody adds a new link to another cam or something, can you edit your first post in that thread to add the link so things don't get lost. That panda cam is sooooo cute.
I was thinking the same thing, but didn't wanna step on any toes. :o Just the animal links? or all the links?

I was thinking that too!! And I agree with Hula. So far we've been pretty responsible. So just add what we add  on that particular thread. And thank's soo much!!

Cockatoo Mating Alert--in Camarillo aviary.

Yep, at 13:00 there was a 17 mph wind gust at the Del Norte Mesowest station--winds are 6 mph NNW, I think it was.

Good idea for the web cams, and the panda link is super. I sent it to my nephew to show to his little girls. I'm afraid of getting hooked on that one and better keep away.

I feel ok, but when I was doing bird chores and applied pressure to that leg area when bending down, wow, it is very tender. It is a LOT different taking a hard fall now than even age 50. Whew! The body changes.

Going to add a scrub jay visitor here, but it's difficult to find, even with the yellow circle around it.

Had a little visitor to the SC nest a few minutes ago, but didn't have my Frapps open (no, Carol, it's not a communicable disease!). By the time I got it open, the visitor was gone, so no pictures. :(

Yeah, Patti, that's the one I saw! Thanks!

Another quick visit. Managed two zigzag captures before the eagle left and the color came back.

Patti - hope you are feeling better. Try not to overdo it. Take a breather and have a nice glass of wine and relax.

Did a bit of reading about the mercury issue. About 10 years ago, we were told that the mercury level in Lake Ontario was very high and not to eat any fish that were caught there. A marine biologist had a fish that was about 50 - 60 years old (I think it was either frozen or taxidermied) from Lake Ontario and they did a mercury test on it, and guess what, the mercury level was less today than it was then. There wasn't much industry in the area that many years ago but there sure is today. Our beaches are constantly being closed with health warnings, not all mercury related of course.
