Hi to all. Patti: hope you're soon recovered from your fall. Those pets, love em to pieces, but they do get underfoot. Lala: Happy 39th, and hope the next 39 are wonderful! Thanks for all the pix and comments. We're still buried with boxes to unpack so most of the day was spent on that. And unpacking has worn me to a frazzle, so I think I'm going to turn in. Good night dear forum friends, have a pleasant evening |

Patti Patti Patti...sorry for your fall! Ouch! If you change your mind for the SC trip....we can get a spiffy cart...like they had in the Grecian/Egyptian/bad movie times....and carry you on our shoulders ashore. Really! Or shall we send you a IWS flashlight equiped head gear for your next trip to the garage??? Chill girl and take care of yourself! LaLaLaLa. #39? How'd that happen to a couple not yet pushing 40? Embryo bride, no doubt! Have a great evening! Cheers to all. S P.S. Light a candle to best friend Ruby who crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday. 13 years of faithful love and devotion. RIP RubyDo |

Patti: sent an e-mail re: dinner. Everyone: This has been a very sad and difficult week, but it helps to share your troubles and your open hearts and minds have helped me and others to cope with the untimely deaths of pets, A-61, and individual problems, sadness and illness/injuries. I just want you all to remember that you have made a difference, not only to IWS, the eagles, and the education of children to make them better custodians of this planets, but to each of us as individuals. I know you don't need a pep talk, but sometimes you just need to realize that you affect more people than you will ever know, and in a positive way. Hulabird- you are the "den (nest) mother" and your selfless devotion to the members of the forum is such an unexpected delight. You are loved my many, people and animals. I for one love your generosity, humor and spirit. Thank you. Cumbrian - your pictures, wisdom and encouragement are a huge reason why we come back, even if there are no eagles in the nest. Thank Youbeing our cheerleader, treasurer and friend, we miss you, but love should come to everyone, and each of us should be better for it, and it sounds like you are.Congratulations Eagle D. Thanks for Dr. Sharpe - We all look up to you, whether you are dangling from a helicopter or sitting at your computer. Without your guidance and responsiveness, many people would not stick with the forum. You and your crew are the reason we contribute, particpate, and remain. IWS crew, thank you for the great updates and other information, we wait wit bated breath for them, and enjoy them for the entire next week. Bixby, EagleDuo, copperwyrd, KLJinusa, KLJinOz, Aline, Teddy Neal, Peppermint, Patti, Naturegal, harpo, Ojai hikers, ojailala, saraoh, Denny, Bea, Bird, Madison99, Margiew, Troth and the others I forgot. Thank you for being part of the online family. I just want you all to know how much you have enriched my life, and how much I appreciate it. I can't wait to meet some of you next week. Sylvia |

I forgot to add(boy do I feel Stupid): Cruz, Mom and Dad, West End trio, all the eaglets, A-61. You make our hearts soar, and our minds wonder about the beauty you display. It makes an agnostic pray for your safety. Skellis |

Thank you Skellis for your nice and thoughtful post. It was a very hard night for us all when we got the news. It was only through the help of the wonderful people of this forum that I was able to get the hardest part of part of my grieving over and could move back to the memories faster than I normally would. I am so tenderhearted when it comes to animals. Nobody in my "real" life gets it. And thanks to Robin/Bird for calling to check in. At least we didn't have to worry about her all night. I will humbly accept the honor of being nominated as nest mother. What do I have to do? If it involves spending every waking hour here, I can obviously do that ![]() Where is Elaine? Another day without a permission slip. She'll need to stand in the corner for a bit. Skellis, you forgot to remind this ole CRS victim of your little caique's name. We had a scare with one of our crippled green-cheek conures today. We have to go out the back door (which is where the "little bird room" is) when we go feed the outside dogs and 1.5 cats who live out there. He flew right out when Woody opened the door. Took a trip around the neighbohood, then came on back and sat there resting while Woody picked him up and took him back in the house. Little juvenile delinquent is going to wind up in a cage in the dining room if he keeps it up. He wouldn't be able to make it outside. We can't clip him because his feet are so crippled, flying is about the only way he can get around and protect himself from looking weak to the other birds. |

Jann, how was the disco fish show? Sounded totally underwhelming from Denny's description. Lala, how was your anniversary dinner? Romantic I hope! Patti, how are you feeling? I found this and a zillion other sites on goodsearch about fibromyalgia. "The following herbs are thought to be helpful in treating the symptoms associated with fibromyalgia: Devil's Claw, Ginkgo, Cayenne, St. John's Wort, Grapeseed Extract." Copperwyrd, so sorry you lost your best friend Ruby today. Can you tell us more about her when you're ready? |

You won't miss me because I'll be there huffing and puffing on the trails with you in spirit. And don't even THINK of being too tired when you get home that night to post at least a couple of pictures. You know we'll be tapping our talons in starvation for word from everybody. Somebody, I hope will order the steamers and let me know how they were. |

HB You already meet the criteria for nestmother. My caique is named Coco Cocopuff when she is being cute and sweet, and Cocoloco when she is in her manic phase. I really feel for your green cheek conure, all you can do is keep an eye out for him. Several friends have sanctuaries for disabled birds, ranging from a hybrid macaw whose breeder was going to put him down (after having the vet break and reset his splayed legs three times) he gets around fine, a beakless Senegal, ringnecks with palsey, a Grey with a crooked neck and back, and others. They are all living a full, if slightly shorter life, and appear to enjoy themselves, they just need a little help. They need protection. I once went to a bird show and walked into the women's bathroom where a finch breeder was flushing some live finches down the toilet because they didn't sell. I wasn't in time to stop it. A twelve year old walked in and became hysterical, and I had to go to the authorities over the situation. She should have been arrested, but was merely banned from showing again. I have never seriously felt like doing violence to a person before, but wanted to flush her. Some people don't deserve to be around animals. |

Skellis, I can assure you, I would have wound up in jail that day. Probably for a good many years. What on earth would possess someone to be so cruel. Another one who is not invited to our forum. We have several splayed legs, clubbed feet, a couple of one-eyes, lots of behavioral problems (but those are fixable) and mostly everybody has decided that now that mom isn't working, they must submit to kisses and cuddling at least once a day. Sometimes I need to get out of here for a couple of hours because of the noise but as soon as I leave, I remember that I hate being away from home worse than screaming birds get on my nerves and have to come on back. Besides, there's noplace to go anyway. And certainly noplace like home. |

Ojailala - hope your had the best of times celebrating your Anniversary and congratulations on 39 years.... very close to your B-Day, if I am remembering correctly - next weekend? Patti - I feel for you - take care and pamper yourself a bit. Will you join us at Andria's after the 'Cruz Cruise'? Please?! |

Skellis...Thank you for a lovely tribute to all. You summed it up nicely. Patti Do hope that you are feeling better. I have been caught many a time with a kitty under foot. Believe me I bruise very easily, and all for love! Copperwyrd so sorry for your loss, and know that the Rainbow Bridge is a good place to rest. We have had many of our faithful friends go there recently. Just think of them all together having a great time. Hulabird you are a wonder and could think of no other to be mother of the nest. You are like the wind beneath our wings. Thank you I'm up late tonight, but couldn't think of going to sleep without a peek. Sleep well all and pleasant dreams. |
