We only have control of the camera from the camera site right now, and hopefully from our tent site (about 150 m from the nest) in a couple weeks. I want to leave the camera centered on the nest, otherwise it will start adjusting to the dark background and wash out the nest again. I think the branch K-10 was sitting on may be the only one where their heads will be out of view. If we tilt the camera up it will also take away the view of the area below the nest, another spot that Cruz liked to use. We can back the zoom off 1-2 x and get a wider view of the area. No matter what we do, there is always going to be something out of view or not zoomed in enough to see well.

Yes, she is on Oahu! That's a pretty good side earthquake for such a small area. Hate to leave now without seeing her on line! Will try to check in from my Dad's to see if she's okay.

Everyone who's on right now, send good thoughts Hula's way. They've reported landslides etc. I'm trying to phone her, but still can't get thru. Either the power is off all over the place, or, too many people trying to call Hawaii.

CNN reporters are saying they've been told to stay off the telephones---wonder if that would apply to Oahu (sp?). Saw all the news at my mom's house and just returned.

This is a quote from CNN online:

Power at least partially knocked out on every island, said Civil Defense spokesman Lani Goldman. On Oahu, 95 percent of customers were without power, he said

95%have lost power, which is probably why we haven't heard from Hulabird. I'm sure she knows we are all worried about them and she will contact us as soon as possible. We are all praying for you Hulabird.
