(Pssst! people! Don't tell Debi, but don't expect an essay. I don't do essays. Anyway, I already knew what it meant, I was just kidding her! Remember the DH thingy? When I asked what that meant? Well, I kinda figured DH was kinda relative, too! Know what I mean?
Let's keep her guessing and looking for that essay, OK? Thanx!)

LOL, PP, what brought the toilet paper forefront? I'm cracking up at you and Denny. And Denny, dont' even try to get out of detention (I have a feeling you're very familiar). Get to the library and find as much info on goodsearxh as you can and NEVER ask that that question again.

HB: It was YOU saying THIS...."So even today, people who hoarded on Sunday have left the rest of us with no toilet paper"....that was something I never thought about. Would hate to be down to my last roll and have a major earthquake hit!

This toilet paper issue has made me think of a funny story. My mother was so obsessed about running out of things in an emergency that she had cupboards full of can goods and a garage full of bottled water and toilet paper. This is no lie, after she died my father had toilet paper that lasted him for over a year, you know being a man and all. Stock up folks, cuz you just never know.

Troth: I think my parents could live for a full year without ever leaving their house should a natural disaster hit. I keep reminding my mom that there are only TWO of them in the house now.....we've all been out on our own for what...30 years now????

My mother has a gigantic freezer full of food. The family joke is that my brother has said he wants "dibs" on inheriting the freezer. He hasn't asked for anything else, just the freezer. I can relate to the toilet paper stash for the same reason, although no-one has asked to inherit that!

My parents were the same way. I think it had something to do with growing up during the depression. I picked up the habit but was cured when I moved to NYC and there was no room to store anything! Now that I live in LA, I have plenty of room, but thank goodness, I didn't revert back. Although . . . it would come in handy in case of a bad earthquake . . .

You are right, Bird, I think it does have something to do with growing up during the Depression. My mother hates to waste anything.
