Oh Elaine, you must be a nervous wreck. Just please, try to get a second opinion. Honestly, there are so many treatment options for everything these days. I don't know what your doctors are saying you have, but just get other opinions AND I do know that doctors do tell you the "worst case scenarios" because they have to cover their tail feathers just in case. I hope you had your "man who cuts down trees" there with you when they told you this info. as well. If not, when you go again, make sure you have someone there with you to listen and ask questions. I say this because I know that when I'm told something scary or worrisome, my adrenaline kicks in and I think the worst and end up not actually "hearing" what people are telling me, if you know what I mean. On another note, I did go to the Poconos this past weeknd and got some shots of the fall foliage. I'll try to post later. I'm still trying to calm myself down over my weekend events...Here's the scene...husband's 25th class reunion at a resort...lovely occasion, great food, plenty of drinking among the classmates...2:30 AM trying to get to bed...waiting in lobby area with my DH while we get someone to help get a female classmate up to her room (passed out on a chair). I couln't leave her there because there were strangers walking around everywhere...big golf outting there as well with lots of men around...three men approach and start poking fun, my DH kindly asks them to leave and BAM! He gets punched in his eye, falls completely backwards onto the ground...unconscious! I go into FREAK mode and start screaming because I'm now thinking the complete worst case scenario...brain injury...go running after the men and try to get the security guard (young boy) to stop them. They do nothing. Do call 911 at the front desk and wait for police to arrive.... Anyway, I can't tell you how sick I am right now. I can't believe what lunatics there are in this world. I'm so tired of everyone just trying to "cover their tail feathers" rather than honestly approaching a problem and dealing with it. What a mess. Now, my poor DH is off to work embarrassed by his appearance (black and blue and bloddy eye)..having to visit customers and all with this. My poor 9 yr. old sobbed yesterday when we got home and she saw her daddy hurt. Broke my heart. Well, at least I'm going to the pumpkin patch with my 4 yr. old today. That will hopefully take my mind off of things as I bobble around on the hayride. Beautiful day here for it!!

Nancy - what a horrible incident. People are really nutty today and you can't trust some strangers. We want to be the good guy and help someone in distress and "BOOM", out of nowhere some drunken idiot appears, probably in an alcoholic stupor, with such rage, and gets violent. I hope you are pressing charges to teach this idiot a lesson. Hope hubby heals quickly and your little daughter is over her fright of something happening to daddy. I also agree with you regarding ElaineRuth, as second opinions are so important as I have learned from experience. Hope all goes well with your family and you get over this trauma quicikly. A huge mantle to all of you. |

Nancy, I don't know what to say! What a shock! There you and your hubby are, trying to do the right thing, and those creeps came along. Boo to them. That must have been awful. I'm glad that your husband will be OK. I hope this doesn't spoil your memories of the entire outing. It sounds like it had been a super weekend up until then. I hope the police were able to charge the guy. ElaineRuth, Nancy's suggestions to get a second opinion and to take someone else with you are excellent. |

"Headless" Dad on the nest....good thing for wingblings! Everything looks so still almost looks like a photograph rather than a live cam. I do hope Peter is able to adjust this later on so we get the whole eagle up on that branch. |

Hmmmm....eagles must not like blue jays for breakfast. There are TWO on the nest...one on the middle branch with Dad on the E branch!! I'm afraid to keep watching....one has flown away....so strange to see them sharing the nest. |

Nope, not as of yet. He ran out of the building...breaking the doors off of the hinges, mind you. We filed a police report that evening, but unfortunately, he probably got away. (Dad just flew off to bottom right of screen) They have the whole incident on the security video, but as of yesterday when we were checking out, they had yet to locate his whereabouts. I just wish there was something else that could be done. |
