I was getting Leyla some milk when he flew off. :( But I did get a video of part of some of his visit. Here he is sitting so R-Eagle while the two jays flittered around. I was really surprised that they were there....especially the one right next to him bouncing up and down for several minutes! Maybe they paid their rent? :D

Also go one of him 'lightening his load', that I'm still processing. Back in a couple minutes with it.

Good Morning All~

Boy oh boy have I missed alot. It will take me days to catch up so I will just say that I hope today will be a positive good day for everyone, illnesses will be eased, problems will get solved and happiness will again return.

My trip to Scotland was wonderful, I loved the country and the people were the best. The Scots puts us Americans to shame with their friendliness, care and concern. The couples all walk holding hands no matter how old they are, the children were all well behaved, everyone is neighborly and everyone was so sweet and kind. A really wonderful country. I took 800 photos. Today is pretty surreal feeling at work and I have so much to catch up with here and on the forum. I will be a lurker for some time. Glad to be back and I am looking forward to next Sunday's trip to Santa Cruz Island.

Congrats to the winners of the raffle although I do not see where it is posted so whoever won good going!

Tootles. . .

Here are some stills from the West End visit:

Started out in b&w....
Posted Image Posted Image

Then started fluxuating between b&w and color. Tried to get color shots when the camera cooperated:

Then the camera froze. When it unfroze, the eagle was gone.

Once again, Cumbrian....love your stills!

Something out there?...........................................Back to eating?

Great shots and video! As always, thank you!

I love the color and clarity that the new camera/angle provides. Yes, it does cut off the head if an eagle is sitting on the E-branch, but we'll see what we get when there's something in the bowl to see!

Good morning all you wonderful, caring, loveable peeps! FINALLY, I'm back. We didn't get power last night til 8PM, then cable/TV/phone on worked for about 10 minutes. I was barely started getting caught up on the posts. Still wasn't on until a little after 5AM this morning. Yesterday was awful. Nothing to do. Power was out on literally the whole island. They started restoring it to one area at a time yest around 2:30. Started in Aiea and Pearl City and the next couple of towns looked thike they were heading my way. Next thing you know, the radio announced that Nanakuli, Maile, Waianae, and Makaha we up. Umm, hellooooooo, missed a spot. They jumped completely over Kapolei/Makakilo. I just kept knowing it was a fluke and we'd be up soon.

When it didn't happen, I had to go to several neighboring towns to forage for dinner for Woody and I. All we had in the cupboards/refrigerator were cookable stuff and then canned turkey/salmon/sardines and stuff like that but it just all sounded terrible to me. So I took off and went to 4 different grocery stores. Not a bite of bread to be found, no hot foods such as rotisserie chicken or ribs and stuff they usually had. No fresh salad. Nothing.

The last store I went to had a chinese take out in it with a few different items. Still not my cup of tea but by then I was whithering from starvation, fatigue, and no forum.

Cable company told me last night it could take up to a week to get digital services fully restored. (I DON'T THINK SO). At least it finally came up at 5:30 AM after I had been refreshing my screen every 2 minutes for the past 3 hours.

Anyway, I'll post about what we felt on the earthquake, all my comments to yesterdays posts, and my heartfelt gratitude for all the prayers, good thoughts, PMs, phone calls, e-mails, text messages, etc in a bit. I have to go wake Woody up and get him fed and dressed and out the door to work.

Oh its great to be back in the nest!

Great shots, Cumbrian! I didn't even see most of those! I'm sure the camera is having trouble because of the cloudy weather we've had lately. Doesn't bode well for an El Nino winter, does it? :o
