Hulabird, I'm so glad you and Woody are okay. I hope your menagerie is settling down and not to upset by the events. You will have to let us know how long you felt the quake. Do you feel the aftershocks too? I know how frustrating it is to be without power. You try to find other things to do and they always seem to end up needing electricity!

And you are missing K-10 visits! But the other great folks here are recording info for us.

Thanks to EagleDuo and Cumbrian for the pix and video!!

I managed to get a couple quick shots before the camera went to No Video. Will watch and see if it comes back on before the eagle leaves. For now, here's what I got:

Enlarging the picture, I could make out #69 on the wingbling.

p.s. She's still there, but the camera is being very erratic.

She's still there. Seems to be looking out over the ocean.....possibly for a midday meal! Camera is still erratic, but you can glimpses of her between the gliches.

Good morning / afternoon everyone~ been very busy so have missed a day of postings and of course major events happening....

TG HB & Woody are Ok, mere inconvenience not having her around, eh! I feel very selfish that we demand her presence here all the time but she is after all our nest Mom, big big mantle.

Gosh Nancy, I hope the authorities catch that drunk, what a terrible thing to have happen.

ER - we are all with you, strength in love.

Troth, we dont mind if you post 100 or 800 photos.. but do you have the time!!??

Thanks Duo Eagle and Cumbrian for the eagle captures... this is what this forum is about and the IWS Crew takes important data from this I'm sure. I cant wait for nestorations either.... I may even get up at 2am to get on the forum to check sunrises....

Joanie, the eagle calendar is great, and good idea about next year. Hey, KLJinUSA is in the publishing industry, maybe she can give some contacts to start the ball rolling?

I have a busy day in the office today, so will be lurking.

Oh and congrats to the raffle winners (so far)! (oh so envious..... ;) )

Hi there...just checking in with a couple of shots of a small visitor to the nest. There was an even smaller bird earlier but he blended in toooooo much wasn't worth posting him!

Between 4:47PM and 4:51PM..........lots of preening went on. Can you see him? First branch...then the blur on the right is him leaving!!!

HB, just finished watching the early news and understand you have had quite a few aftershocks which is normal after an earthquake of the magnitude you experienced. After the Northridge quake we had 1300 or 13,000 (don't remember which) but it has to be unnerving. Also, they had a 5.8 earthquake in Russia that is predicted to have an impact on you too. Worst of all, you have a 70% chance of rain tonight which could cause more problems with the soil that has already been compromised.

Bottom line -- BE CAREFUL!

Remember, we're all here for you; can we send you some food? Or whatever?
Don't want you, Woody or all your 'chillun' to be needing anything. I understand the airlines are moving again so if you need anything, holler.

How nice to see all are well. It was a surprise to see A-10 in the nest, this is a goood sign. :o
The Maine eagle pair go in their nest on a daily basis, bring branches, twigs and nest material.
It makes everyone feel good to see them.
Thank you for the videos and the stills. ;)
A little cam ajustment is needed for us the see the birds full height when perched on the high branch, I love the new view. :D

Hi Fellow Birdbrains. I've been gone for a few weeks and am still trying to catch up. We've had the drawing? Do we know who was selected? Joanie?

Great photo, Elaine Ruth. Sorry about your eyes. Do get a second opinion.

HB, glad you are okay.

I see we have a new camera. Are we going to have sound? Are we going to get to keep it 24/7 and watch the mating and nesting?

I understand our baby left us. She is so stong and adventuresome. We did a great job with her. I'm excited to see Daddy back and getting the house in order.

Did I miss anything else important? I must say, if any of you gets a chance to do the Panama Canal by ship, it is pretty impressive. I had no idea it was so beautiful. Good to be home though.

Emma Rose, apparently the new camera does have a mic, although Dr. Sharpe hasn't finished doing the setup needed to get it going yet. I believe it is in the works though. The camera is still solar powered, so as before it's only active during the day. Of course at night there's not much reason to have it on anyway (although with the audio it was still interesting sometimes to tune into the Saanich camera at night and occasionally hear peep, peep, peep, peep, peep :D )

Very busy day here and just checked in.

ER--BE SURE TO GET A SECOND OPINION--and take hubby or daughter with you. Thank you for sharing this with us--we all care very much about how you are feeling and what's going on in your life.

MMMB--so sorry about the gross incident. I'm so sorry that your children have to see daddy with the black eye.

HubaBird--happy you're back with us. Oh, boy, I was in Piru, and hubby in LA, during the Northridge quake. It did a lot of damage over our way. One guy's house SPLIT in half! I hate earthquakes and so do my birds. Actually, I think two of my cockatiels have indirectly died as a result of that Northridge quake and its aftershocks. They don't take quakes well at all. Very happy that all is well with you, Woody, and your birds.

Congrats to the raffle winners!

So happy you're back, Teri! We missed you. Emma Rose, nice that you're back.

And thank you for the videos and captures, ED and Cumbrian.

Just got word that my nephew and his family on the Big Island, Hilo, Hawaii, are fine TG. Lots of shaking but very little damage. We are all so relieved.

husband's 25th class reunion at a resort...lovely occasion, great food, plenty of drinking among the classmates...2:30 AM trying to get to bed...waiting in lobby area with my DH while we get someone to help get a female classmate up to her room (passed out on a chair). I couln't leave her there because there were strangers walking around everywhere...B)

You did the right thing by not abandoning your classmate. These days, you never know what can happen, she may have been drugged. It happened to me once, but I was able to get myself home before something awful happened. Sorry your husband was punched out, but he is a HERO in my eyes. And your children will learn that sometimes a punch in the face is worth it to stand up for what is right.

That's my 2cents!!!
