Good morning all? Or after noon to those who live in civilization. I apologize for my lengthy outburst yesterday and have deleted it. If I had directed it to the person to whom it was intended, I would be having another very bad day right now. I appreciate the support and wings you supplied to rest my wearies on.

I still have a very long thank you note to write which will be coming soon. You peeps are totally incredible in lots of different ways. But you already knew that, now didn'tcha?

Bird, you know we love you and knew you meant no harm. But you're right, sometimes it is difficult to display your true emotion without the voice inflection.

I have finally gotten my remote software up and stabilized. I've tested it and it works. I have put an initial 10000 minutes into the IWSHELP account but if we need more as time goes on, I will increase it. Nobody in this forum will ever be charged for this service but you are definately on your honor to make as large of a donation to IWS as you can afford. I am looking for a volunteer to help me get a tutorial ready for the tech section of this forum on how to go about initiating service with me for the remote repair. I need this because I can't see what you guys get when you're setting up the remote software on your end. All I need from the volunteer is screenshot taking and then emailing them to me. Will have to do part of it on the phone. No long distance involved. I'll make a $25 donation to IWS for your service. Unfortunately, I can't use anyone for this who already has an account with me. I'll provide the screen capture software.

Peppermint Patti, sounds like you are among the winners of the big fostering tour! Congratulations!

Bird, the unacceptable use of Bixby's avatar will not be tolerated. Please rein in your friends. (Better insert a smilie here for clarity)

I need to comment on several other posts from the last two days but will do so later. Right now, if I don't get busy working on my website and stay on it all day, it won't get done. So I'll be checking in and out throught the day.

Elaine, can you post the name of your condition so we can all get busy goodsearching it for help?

Have a wonderful day everybody.

PS Troth, if you PM a good time for me to call you and give me your number, I'll be happy to call you and see what we can do over the phone.

About A-53, I'm wondering if it was a rat poison type of situation? I know with parrots the body has to be pretty fresh in order to do a necropsy. I mean like wrap them loosely and put them in the refrigerator until you get them to a vet, if it's over a weekend. Friends have gone through this with MY baby--same peeps who ruined the African grey I lost to metal toxins. Your heart breaks over and over with exotics.

If I can, I'm going back into the Ventura Star articles on the local mountain lions. I think I read that one of the puma youngsters, from the group where the dad killed the mom, died of either lead or rat poison. If I find it, I'll post it.

Think it was HulaB who mentioned Steve Colbert--and that's a good idea--for both rat poison and lead bullet issues.

Margiew: I'm so sorry about your kitty situation. I hope you find her soon.

I know the 33% mortality rate is expected, but there could be environmental improvements to ensure the safety of all animals that eat carrion. It's frustrating.

Patti and Peepermint <typo left in place after I saw what it said>, that was soooooo cute.

Thanks, that really lightened my heart today.

The other day when my green-cheek (Cheeky) had his most harrowing adventure in the neighborhood, once Woody got him safely back inside, all I wanted to do was mantle him. At one point he wanted to retest those fabulously magnificent "man-wings" he'd just discovered again and flew over to Tibbles the long hair cat's back. (He was sound asleep at the time having kitty dreams).

Tibbles was so startled by this intrusion that "His Laziness" immediately (5 minutes later in "Tibbles time" looked up to see who it was who was styling his hair. He was so excited and overwhelmed when he saw it was Cheeky, he immediately (in "human time" laid his head back down and continued the snorefest. Animals are so cool.

That picture and caption sequence was very endearing.

I agree wholeheartedly. It was part of one of those chain emails (a cutesy animal one of course), so getting to the root of it will be difficult. But I am determined!

You're HIRED! (spoken in my most Donald, whatever his non-animal supporting last name is) voice.

 back atcha

Perhaps we can hire Patti for a moderate donation to IWS to find the source of the illicit use of Bixby's avatar and issue a cease and desist order.

Speaking of continued fundraising, I'll pledge a $25 donation to IWS if Patti (our resident nestavist) will send a letter to Stephen Colbert and get ANY response from him at all. Then there will be a $100 bonus if he mentions the plight on his show in any way, shape or form. Anybody else want to add to that?

Hello all...Hope that all is well and you are so far enjoying your day.

margiew Hope that you find kitty soon. My Lulu was missing last year for 5 days, and then suddenly showed up. I suspect that she somehow was locked in a neighbors garage. She was always so quiet that you would not even know she was around. Then just as we were posting signs, lo and behold she appeared at the slider. What a reunion. Don't give up and she most likely didn't wander far. The lady at animal control told me that a lot of times people keep them especially if they are tame. My thoughts are with you.

Peppermint congrats with the win :D Way to go.

I will check in later. Seems to be quiet on the nestern front today B)

I am not going to comment on anything in particular cause I just got home (flew at 6 this morning - straight to work from airport) and gotta get ready to go to dinner - a date with hubby - our 14th anniversary today!!!!! And as a point of reference - we got married in Woodstock (the town not the field)!

I'll try to get thru all that I missed over the past several days - a lot of stuff!!

Glad to be home / back in the nest! I'll probably be doing a bit more lurking :ph43r: than posting today into tomorrow!

HOWEVER - congrats to all who have won so far (lucky dogs)!! hmmm or is that eagles hmmmm....... ;)

I'd like to nominate and vote for Cumbrians for Nestorians (historians) of the Year Award.

While some have picked up the ball and taken some of the burden off of Cumbrians shoulders, they were the pioneers of the screen grabs and videos of our nest last year.

Many would not have seen the daily goings on at the nest without them.

Whatchoo talkin 'bout peeps?

Harpo, HAPPY 14th ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been married the same number of years and I just love it (contrary to my diatribe yesterday). I hope you have a wonderful day and many more happy anniversaries after this one! Congratulations sweet!

PS How is Mom?

Patti, if you have time, can you post that picture sequence in everythigng else so it doesn't get buried as fast? It would be delightful to return to it once in awhile.

Amen to that! Without the Cumbrians...oh, the thought!

HulaB---It had entered my mind a while back to try and figure out how to contact Colbert. Yep, a skit on the dangers his son and "the flock" faces could be turned into an effective comedy skit.

As far as donations on the Colbert thing...I hope everybody can somehow squeeze a hoodie into their budget---since that's GOOD IWS advertising. The way to make me happy is to wear those T-shirts and hoodies to advertise in your area.

Personally, I think the note cards are a better way to advertise than a calendar. They're a little pricey, but the message would reach 5 more peeps. I ALWAYS check the backs of all cards...it's a compulsion.

My hubby admitted that he really likes the IWS hoodie, although he won't wear one. No hoods for this guy. :( So as a gift item, you gotta be careful with the hoods. I know not to get one for the better half.

Margiew:
I had a creepy thought about your kitty. What if some jerk is waiting for you to post the reward sign? When some kind soul took the time to blast my escaped cockatoo out of his backyard fruit tree, the first thing he said when he called me was a question about the REWARD. It turned out he was a nice guy, but my heart sank when that was the very first thing that came out of his mouth. He deserved the reward--$200--and I gratefully paid him. I'm lucky some jerk didn't try to sell him for more money. No complaints, but you know what's out there.

Patti, the old Dragnet series comes to mind when I read your post (yes, I'm THAT OLD). These people who steal people's animals for the reward are cretins and if any of us are subject to their antics and can't afford the hostage money, please contact me immediately. Margiew, I hold you and your precious kitty in my heart.

HB: I'm trying to get out the door but ...... mom is doing well it was an isotope implant to track spinal fluids if fluid retention is the cause of her stumbling/stuttering/etc they'll put in a shunt which should correct the problems she is having - if it's not the fluid - then it's more than likely parkinsons! So if we have to have a problem to deal with, we are praying for the shunt! She was real positive when I left last night - she had the next round of X-rays this morning and they will repeat them Wed & Thurs and hopefully next week we'll know something!

Thanks for asking!

and a huge round of applause and thanks for sure to the cumbrians (I still haven't made time to learn how to do that capture thing - geeez)

And I leave you all with this:
