This is for MaMiMoBaMom, especially!! THE BIRTH ORDER OF CHILDREN Your Clothes: 1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon as your OB/GYN confirms your pregnancy. 2nd baby: You wear your regular clothes for as long as possible. 3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes. ______________________________________________________ Preparing for the Birth: 1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously. 2nd baby: You don't bother because you remember that last time, breathing didn't do a thing. 3rd baby: You ask for an epidural in your eighth month. ______________________________________________________ The Layette: 1st baby: You pre-wash newborn's clothes, color-coordinate them, and fold them neatly in the baby's little bureau. 2nd baby: You check to make sure that the clothes are clean and discard only the ones with the darkest stains. 3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can't they? ____________________________________________________ Worries: 1st baby: At the first sign of distress-a whimper, a frown-you pick up the baby. 2nd baby: You pick the baby up when her wails threaten to wake your firstborn. 3rd baby: You teach your three-year-old how to rewind the mechanical swing. ___________________________________________________ Pacifier: 1st baby: If the pacifier falls on the floor, you put it away until you can go home and wash and boil it. 2nd baby: When the pacifier falls on the floor, you squirt it off with some juice from the baby's bottle. 3rd baby: You wipe it off on your shirt and pop it back in. ______________________________________________________ Diapering: 1st baby: You change your baby's diapers every hour, whether they need it or not. 2nd baby: You change their diaper every two to three hours, if needed. 3rd baby: You try to change their diaper before others start to complain about the smell or you see it sagging to their knees. ______________________________________________________ Activities: 1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics, Baby Swing, and Baby Story Hour. 2nd baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics. 3rd baby: You take your infant to the supermarket and the dry cleaner. ______________________________________________________ Going Out: 1st baby: The first time you leave your baby with a sitter, you call home five times. 2nd baby: Just before you walk out the door, you remember to leave a number where you can be reached. 3rd baby: You leave instructions for the sitter to call only if she sees blood. _____________________________________________________ At Home: 1st baby: You spend a good bit of every day just gazing at the baby. 2nd baby: You spend a bit of everyday watching to be sure your older child isn't squeezing, poking, or hitting the baby. 3rd baby: You spend a little bit of every day hiding from the children. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Swallowing Coins (a favorite): 1st child: When first child swallows a coin, you rush the child to the hospital and demand x-rays. 2nd child: When second child swallows a coin, you carefully watch for the coin to pass. 3rd child: When third child swallows a coin you deduct it from his allowance! ______________________________________________________ GRANDCHILDREN : God's reward for allowing your children to live -- Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like nobody's watching ![]()

Patti, just getting back to you....... The WE Cam is having a lot of problems at present and I, speaking personally, don't think that it is altogether solar related. The pictures seem to come in flashes and boy, do you have to be quick on the trigger, at those times. It may be coincidence, but I have also noticed that once the Eagles have left, the Cam seems to behave more.......At least not so quickly and in colour too. Could their movement on the nest be upsetting the Cam? Jann have you noticed anything? It may also be the bandwidth.......... I saw the small birds flying around the nest. They were quick little beggers weren't they! |

Thanks so much for the cute picture! Michael loved it! He thought I was calling him in to look at an eagle, so, he was pleasently surprised to see his name and all! He has an ear infection and is on Amoxicillin for 10 days. Hopefully he'll begin to feel much better tomorrow. Thanks so much for caring!

Loved the one about with the 3rd you spend some of the day hiding from the children! And I thought I was the only one! What a relief! I'm not so horrible and exhausted after all! Very cute! Thanks for the laughs!!

I'm finally caught up with all the other threads and back to this current one. Patti: Thanks for posting that email thingy for me. Glad you all liked the cat/rat. My dad sent that one to me and the cat looks verrrry much like our Corky only Corky is all white around his mouth....and cuter, of course. He's a sweetie. Someday I'll post his picture...maybe. Cumbrians=Nestorians I LOVE that....perfect title for them! Steven Colbert MUST be contacted....if for no other reason than to warn him about impending dangers to his SON!!! I've been thinking he needs to know of our adoption efforts, as well. Harpo: Welcome back and Happy Anniversary....hope your mom's tests come back the way you are all hoping. The worst part about tests is all the waiting...makes me crazy. And I'm going to say this in every thread where I post.....I am SO EXCITED!!!! I will not get I will not get I will not get seasick....hey, it worked for Dorothy!

ER, I love the "Birthing Order". I always print out a copy all 'purdy' for expectant or new mothers and a shower/baby gift. I think everyone has kept it and put it in their baby books.....which they only have cuz it's the first! Cumbrian, I hadn't really thought about the camera getting worse when the eagles were there or not. I don't know how much is solar-related or camera just getting old. We haven't had much sun out here for the past week, which I'm sure doesn't help matters. I think I'm trying to convince myself it is solar related and that we get sun again, it'll clear up. You trying to burst my bubble? Today has been a super busy day on all the threads. I know I've left lots of stuff out. Can I blame it on being blonde? If now, how about CRS or 'Sometimers'? I could claim all 3 most of the time! Seriously, I do apologize if I've overlooked something. We both care about you all and are so glad to be a part of such a great group! FIVE DAYS!!!! |
