Bea, Jann, Pat, you guys are awesome. Thanks so much for your captures of Dad. Where's mom these days? Probably still at Chinese Harbor taking candy (fish) from babies! Thanks Teri for the words of wisdom this morning. Hopefully I will remember them throughout the day. Of course I'll need to save your message to read tomorrow, as I need a reminder each day! Have a great day everyone. I'll be checking in from time to time. I'm looking forward to today's update!! |

Thank you, Troth, for the touching story. I liked the final line especially. The story has been saved as a favourite. Thanks for all the screen captures this morning. One of these times I would like to learn how to do that. I missed K10 today, so it was great to see the pictures. Pat, Vancouver Island was rated #1 island in North America in a just-released Conde-Nast survey. Harpo, I hope it warms up for your camping outing. Margie, did you have any luck finding your kitty yet? I am going to have to start taking notes, since I forget to respond to some people by the time I've started typing. I don't mean to leave anyone out, so I really do need to keep a notepad nearby. I was able to get out for a massage this morning. If you've never been for one, it really does help. Sarah, great line about K26 taking candy (fish) from babies. Where are you, Mom? You need to take some lessons from the West End eagles. ElaineRuth, thinking of you... |

I'm at home this morning waiting for a plumber and Milgard window technician. My new windows had a number of manufacturing problems and this will be the 3rd time they've had to come out here. I love the windows, but the service addressing problems has really been bad. Today, I realized I was supposed to mail back our Island trip contract beforehand, so I'll drop it by their office today. We have 33 people going! Thanks for the nest captures everyone! Karen |

Great shots, Jan, Bea & Cumbrian!!! Even the distorted WE shots are looking good to me. I guess I'm accustomed to the smear. Nice post, Teri. And Alger was dancing to The Hamster Dance. She opens her wings back and forth, halfway folded, and moves her feet on her perch. Throws back head and sings her little songs to it. I'm going to post some stuff under the Santa Rosa thread. I signed up the Comedy Central's Colbert Report Newsletter and joined that Message Board late last night. |

She's taken up the gauntlet and is marching forward! Look forward to hearing more! We're on our way out too. Hope someone sticks around to take pictures of the nests while we're gone. |

Thanks to all you picture capturers. I hope K10 and K26 will be spending a lot of time at the nest and getting the "nursery" in shape for next year's baby. It seems such a long time since we had a baby to watch. In the meantime, I am spending a lot of time watching the Pandacam!!! Hope those of you going out to the island have a great time. One of these days we will get out there. Our next trip will be to Monterey (for 37th wedding anniversary) in two weeks. There is another great white at the aquarium which we are going to see. We saw the last one just before it had to be released as it had been chomping on the other fish. .Actually KCET had a show on Sunday night about that particular shark. Happy Eagle watching. |

Good Morning all. Jann, Cumbrian, and Bea thanks for those great captures of K-10. Looks like he is really hoping his mate flies in with some supplies. A woman's work is never done. Perhaps we will see them together soon Beautiful day up this way, so clear a crisp. Great view of the city driving in. I wish I could have taken a pic for you all to see. There were two cruise ships in port and the Golden Gate was just gleaming in the background. Just like a postcard. Talk with you all soon. |

Two little quotes about my thoughts of the birds. My attachment to the birds: U stands for understanding, " The beauty of the mountain was breathtaking; time stood still." At a very deep level of awareness, we know that you and I and the mountain and everything else is the same in different disguises. Not as a sentiment, but as the ultimate truth, at the heart of all creation. Z stands for zest for life, A-61 and A-53 " It does not matter what our specific fate is, as long as we face it with ultimate abandon." This is carefreeness. This is joy. This is freedom. This is zest for life. For our brave Eaglet teachers |

Yep, it is exciting to watch the start of the nestery, but again where is mom. Do the dad's do all the nestorations? I am LOVING the panda cam, what a cutie!! I love him/her. The baby gorilla is also adorable, but still want the nest to get started. Not that far off!!! |

Took a quick peek at the nests before Leyla & I go to meet Dave for lunch at Market Broiler and caught these ravens on the West End nest. Looks like they were picking it clean of all the nestovers from the adults visit earlier today. ![]() ![]() ![]() Linda, I want pictures of that Great White when you go! Wish we lived closer so we could go and see it in person. And now we're off to meet Dave! See ya when we get back! |
