The Hamster Dance brought back wonderful memories. When I first got the computer 4 years ago, that was one of the toys of the time.. then it was gone. I hope to keep it around for awhile now that you found it for me. Did I hear of another Linda with an anniversary??? 37 years, good for you guys!!! Very slow today for everybody??? |

No, you're not crazy--I'm always off on dates--especially since I'm not going. It's on the 22nd, Sunday. Going to my aunt's memorial Saturday and hope to be home by 4 pm. You could spend Saturday night here--if you can tolerate random midnight CLANKERS. It kept me up last night. Hubby leaves for Chicago tomorrow, and you would be next to the birdroom and may not rest well. Joy can lift the heavy door with her beak and she's a smallish U2....and will do this after dark. It is LOUD. It's random, not every night. |

I was out today and stopped by a drivethru for a soda. There was a raven n the parking lot dragging one wing and hopping. I got worried it would starve to death, gave it half of my sandwich and called animal control because I was afraid it would either starve to death or be picked off by a dog or cat. I waited for a half hour, until it climbed up into a tree using talons and beak. Animal control said that they were coming so I went home. The officer called me to see what tree the bird was in, and after I told him he said that the bird was a baby and one of its parents was with it. I felt really stupid, but told him that the bird couldn't fly and I was still worried. He promised to check in on the bird on a regular basis. I don't know if I'm a sap but I couldn't stand the idea that this bird (even though I sometimes think of ravens as pests) would starve to death. This experience has changed me - I see more when I look at trees, parking lots or other place, I care more about the birds and aminals I see, and I feel a greater responsibility for the care of those animals. Without my involvement with parrots and Cruz I would probably shrug and move on. I do appreciate the animal control officers more as well, they didn't hesitate to come after a crazy lady called about an injured bird. I will go by there tomorrow just in case. |

Patti, ready willing and able to visit, clean cages, feed, cuddle whatever is necessary. I'll get a hotel room in Ventura (I snore) and I will be up early, so I don't want to disturb your sleep, but I would love to visit and meet the flock. e-mail me your address and phone and my navigation system will get me there (I am this generation's wrong-way Corrigan. We can coordinate food. I am getting excited about this. Sylvia |

I love the hamster dance. At the bottom it says it is from Robin Hood. No wonder it sounded familiar. That was one of my favorite cartoon videos with Sir Hiss and PJ (Prince John). Then I had to do a goodsearch because I couldn't remember who did the singing and narrating. It was Roger Miller. Thanks for the happy moment! |

OK, am going to send private email now--but try to get here before dark because the the house is nothing to look at, but the hill is really nice--and good view with the winds. Also, it's very dark up here...no street lights. I had to take the flashlight to get the mail down on the street just now. I'll get takeout food--no need to worry about that!

Thanks for all the kind wishes. Animal Control does not have my Morrisa cat. We left a description of her in the book and viewed all the cats. I had to tell them all they were all so cute but they were not Morrisa! Tomorrow I will do posters after I get confirmation from Long Beach City that posting them is OK. Long Beach has some pretty strict rules so I'm being cautious about putting out posters. |

Margie, I'm so sorry that Morrisa was not at the shelter. Was thinking about you all day. Don't give up hope! And do hang up posters if the city will let you! |
