Dr. Sharpe,
Thanks for the direct links to the two nests. I will use them often.

Looks like you are "Peter of all trades"! It's not enough that you do the biology and field work, you do the tech adjustments too?! Well whatever, I for one am glad you are there!

All the camera work is driving and hiking. I'll have to haul deep-cycle batteries (about 60 lbs each) out to the nest sites. Those are about 45 minute hikes and I usually put the batteries on a frame pack, which makes it a little easier.

You know, I thought maybe I wanted Dr. Sharpe's job - working with eagles and wildlife/flying below a helicopter - but I didn't know there was another whole side - technical stuffies!! I don't think I'm qualified anymore (if I ever was ;) ) So I guess I'll not quit my "day job" as they say.

Plus if I quit it - I wouldn't have a way to save my $$ for next year's trip to the westie coastie!

Thanks doesn't cover what Dr. Sharpe and IWS do!!!

(ps we're camping at No-Be-Bo-Sco in NJ in the "mountains" this weekend -hiking and carrying my backpack - boy - Friday night when I'm trekking that gear to the tent site - I'll be thinking of Dr. Sharpe and the batteries!!! and I will feel his pain - well it'll actually be my pain but I have Tylenol PM!!!)

I got 'trigger happy' and had 95 captures on the desktop!!!! I have whittled/edited down to 20.........so here is Part1.

Good morning everyone and thank's for the morning eagle-fix. I think the big stick in the nest is the best indicator yet that the parents will nest there again. So glad to see it there.

Cumbrian and Hulabird, get all the screen shots you can. Jann seems to be trying to pick up a cold from the kids and she is going to try to get all the rest she can so hopefully she won't be sick for the Cruzneyland trip this weekend.

MIB, what do you folks use for screen captures? My Fraps doesn't work on the WE nest so hard for me to get good shots. I've noticed that some of yours even come out as video over there. Do tell.

She right clicks on the picture and does a "save as". For video she takes several screen shots and goes to an animation program and creates an animated picture.

Such beautiful photos on the WE nest now. And so much good information in the postings. Thanks to everyone for being so informative and energetic.

Bea, I left another question on the Tech thread, when you have some spare time.

Great update Dave!!
Skellis, Way to go on the raven, how sweet and thoughtful. I love your wet bird. My love birds like to play in water. Their so cute when their wet.
Troth, My 25 year old girl had a sobbing meltdown yesterday, great kid, she just got overwhelmed. I read her your story of the lady with three hairs and her sobs went to chuckles.
You all are going to have a blast on the trip to Cruzneyland. The weather is clear and perfect for your trip. Take lots of pictures!! We want to see you having fun together.

Misty, check the tech thread.

Jann, when you're feeling better, do you mind adding those two links to the .jpg files for the nests that Dr Sharpe posted so they don't get lost. Thanks.

Cumbrian, thanks for the great shots today.
