This is a funny video of the Hornby Island eagles doing some nestorations after their eggs did not hatch. It is still one of my all-time favourites. I am not sure who made the video now. It's definitely a "keeper" for me. The new stick in the SC nest made me think of this video. Watch Mom duck right at the beginning!

some time ago I saw a video of one of the nests and they moved one stick around and around and around and did I say around yet! It was the funniest thing.

Makes you wonder if they ever get their eyes poked or hurt in the nestoration process! It could happen so easily! Now I have that to worry about.... geez

That was great!

I don't believe I've seen a bird dodge like that, ever!

She could see it coming, too!

Jann seems to be trying to pick up a cold from the kids and she is going to try to get all the rest she can so hopefully she won't be sick for the Cruzneyland trip this weekend.

Was busy playing with the grandkids, so the sun was going down by the time I noticed your eagle alert. Made for a pretty sunset, but lousy pictures. Here are the ones I did manage to get. Hope you got some better ones before the camera started acting up, Cumbrian (or anyone else for that matter!). Couldn't see the wings of the eagle to see if there were any wingblings or not until the last picture. Looks like there might be a spash of orange on that wing.

Settling in for the night

I was right! Your captures were great, Cumbrian! So glad you saw them when you did. And this one.....doesn't it look like a bird incubating or practicing incubating an egg? I know it's way too early for that, but that's the first thing I thought of when I saw it. Do birds (particularily bald eagles) lay like this other than when they're incubating....or practicing incubating? Maybe I just need to take some cold medicine and go to bed! :P
