I didn't go on the marathon hike yesterday. For those that did...is there truly room for a helicopter up there in that canyon behind the nest?? |

Does anyone have a secret technique for 'marking' where you left off last time? This board does need "read", "unread" markers! |

Karen....read no further...you will faint...to the rest of you...... Here's a big fat bright idea......wouldn't it be cool if this was an "annual event"? At least for one more year? Those that missed it can plan ahead to come....those that did go can give "expert" advice.....and we can all, practice, practice, practice, for the BIG HIKE to Pelican to see the nest. This will also give Skellis time to invent another surprise! Just a thought....don't shoot me. |

I just click on the "Go to First Unread Post," and it's usually pretty good about taking me to the last message that I have read in that thread. My problem is that I go between my computer at work and my computer at home. It's a computer sensitive read, so it takes me to the last read message on that particular computer. |

Hula, I'm so happy that you like your "special" picture with Peter. Hey, how about the one with Peter and ME holding up that sign??? I found it rather magnificent, but if you prefer to have him all to yourself so be it! I'll try not to take it personally. Can you tell that Jann gave me a lesson on posting smiley faces yesterday?! |

Thanks, Bird, but that doesn't work for me! When I click that, it goes to the last post in the thread, not the last one I read. I think that's the way it's supposed to work, but it doesn't for me

There was a helicopter that flew by the nest while I was there. It was a group on the island radio-tracking foxes and pigs. The helicopter is about the only way to cover the north shore of Santa Cruz because there are no roads and few trails. It looks like the camera is not liking being plugged into the same batteries that are running the video transmission equipment. There is some sort of nasty feedback loop going on. At least now the camera won't shut off, so it will be on until dark and on at first light. I'll hike back out in the morning and try to troubleshoot. I may just have to put it back the way it was before. |

Of course I remember it...now it seems almost prophetic...I can't tell you the thrill of seeing both pf them when we arrived. Even Deby was commenting how special it was that they were there to greet us. I'm still in a state of disbelief a full day later. I'm working my way through all of the posts to get caught up with everything before I go back to work on the raffle. D
