We're just lucky Mrs Dr Sharpe is such a good sport about it. She could have heen waiting at the pier with a ball bat yesterday. Mantles Mrs Sharpe for lettling us borrow your DH from time to time. PS Don't ever burst our bubble by coming in here and trying to tell us HE puts his pants on one leg at a time just like a mere mortal (and we won't even discuss his carrying out the trash). We won't believe you anyway. Mantles to Mrs Sharpe! |

Wouldn't you know? Ever since I posted my reply to your question, it hasn't worked for me either! I guess I cursed it. Sorry, Teddy Neal. |

Okay, I know I missed this somewhere because I have now seen it used for more than one spouse. At first, I thought it was someone's initials. What does "DH" stand for? |

Dr. Sharpe was indeed a good sport yesterday. He answered our endless barrage of questions throughout the day including during the hike. Of course, you can imagine that despite our gasping and panting, we could still spit out a gazillion questions (as he passed us by on the trail while smiling and not even breaking a sweat). I asked him why he didn't take a boat over to Pelican Bay on his numerous excursions and he said there's nowhere to anchor. I'm thinking that he actually likes the hike. If I was in his shape, maybe I'd choose that over a boat, too. It was certainly a gorgeous trail! But I saw boats hanging out in Pelican Bay and as I started back, I was willing to give them everything I owned for a ride back to Prisoner's. Honestly, having all of you along for that hike is what got me back to the boat. Everyone was very supportive and encouraging. The threat of having to stay the night on this island if I missed the boat did not phase me a bit. That's punishment? Next trip (which I hope is soon), I'll smuggle an inflatable raft with a mini motor |

Well, there is one thing that occured to me when I got home.. Dr. Sharpe stayed on the island for the night.. would missing the boat have been that bad??? how many places are there to stay??? and, the next morning we could stake out the eagle tree on the beach.. I might just miss the next boat. |

There was a photographer from the Ventura County Star onboard with us. I understand there is a story in the works, but it may not be out for a week or so. If I here anything worth reporting I will let you know. Darrell

Lana and Ben: now you have me hooked on another tv show....I was flipping around channels and up came "Heroes". My son says, "OH!! That's a good show...I haven't been able to remember when it's on." So we watched it together and he got me all caught up on the characters and their powers. Uhhh...thank you?? |

Dr Sharpe probably wouldn't have lowered himself to have to go sleep with the peeps at the campground. That would have been way too easy. He would have just perched on whatever branch that was available. He's our Eagle-Guy!!! |

Cumbrian: great eye catching that helicopter!! I'm glad it wasn't there yesterday...we were all commenting on how peaceful and nice it was to be out there with no sounds of cars or trains or freeway noise. I can't imagine if a helicopter had flown over right about then. A few of us were hanging out on a log on the beach, looking at a couple of island jays in a nearby tree. What we observed was that they seem to be a very very dark blue...a much different blue than what we see on the pests over here on the mainland. And a LOT bigger than they seem on the nest. Ok...I think I'm caught up again...and my headache is finallllly gone. I'll try to post some more story tomorrow. Good nite all! |

Yes but I think its moving to delerious husband in my house. I knew he had lost the battle when he immediately insisted on mantling Dr Sharpe's pics into the room so the birds couldn't get to them and told me to get them nicely framed and on the wall right away. I just love it when a plan comes together. This ole Woody will be in the nest next year seeking fellowship with Dave, Denny, and John. And I suspect Ben and Scott by then too. And I suspect his alledged dislike of "cackling hens" will be gotten over too. Actually I think he secretly likes it but just loves to roll his eyes. Have patience my friends, I know we have another convert. |

Dear Anne Landers, I was kinda hoping that Cumbrians were hallucinating about the helicopter on the nest since I seem to be the only other one having them. But then Dr Sharpe confirmed our suspicions. Should I increase my meds or increase my inner peace? Those are the only two options. |
