The cutest little tiny blue birds keeps picking around the nest. They are so small that unless they hop around you can't even tell they are there. Maybe K10 hired them to start a clean up before he does the big nestoration. |

Or for me, inner Benadryl. Or our own Sandie could hypnotize you. Or if you can do something with the kids (not my strongest suit), I'll come over and pick you up and we'll ride the rails as hobos to Cali! We'll get you there baby girl. You're coming next time. Poor Kruzmisl is going to have to spring for a wider angle lens next time. |

Hi Jeannette. Its a little overwhelming in this forum with all that's going on (even though its off-season). Can you imagine what its going to be like in December when our parents come back full time? Best to get your bearings now. And the way to do that is to look in every thread, see what's there, and post something. That way we'll get to know you better, you'll get to know us and the forum won't be confusing at all. (Except when blondies like me go off on a tangent and you just have to shake your head and say "huh?" But that's a whole 'nother story. Just ignore the birdie on the extreme left coast. |

Cumbrian, you are killing me with suspense with your Nestorian project. I just can't wait!!! Of course, we must feed Roy so he can keep his wonderful creativity levels up. But hurry back. The "nest" is so busy its taking me hours to catch up. Seems like all the trippers are coming out of their eagle induced stupor and posting billions of pictures and stories! I woke up to an eagle-mare this morening with all the posts I had to catch up on. Looked like I'd been offline for days. I love this! Peppermint and Lou were on the trip. What do you mean they aren't already in the picture? Where were you girls? In the powder room? |

Oh, that is too funny. Just ask some of us girls about the "powder room" on the island. I'm sure you'll hear some stories we could do without. |

Skellis, what do you mean Dr Sharpe 'USUALLY" doesn't have to cook? Doesn't he have 24/7 servants at his beck and call? If not, we'll will need to take up a separate collection next year to remedy this situation. Is that bald eagle squeeky toy you have from the Audobon Society? I have that one and Woody had to buy it for me just to stop me from activating it over and over in the store. People were staring. I'm trying to get Gandalf to mimic the call but he just shakes when I play it. That's right boy, bow and quiver in the presence of your leader. |

Hulabird - this is the info about eagles in our area. Bald Eagle in Southern Ontario The story of Bald Eagles in the lower Great Lakes is a very interesting history. It is a story of overcoming many challenges, such as loss of habitat, contamination of their food and environment, and direct persecution. It is also a story of coming back from the very brink of extirpation in Ontario. Most importantly, the Bald Eagle story is about partnerships; about government and non-government organizations, landowners, and volunteer nest-monitors working together towards a common goal of restoring a healthy population of Bald Eagles to southern Ontario. Throughout their range, Bald Eagles have undergone dramatic fluctuations over the past two centuries. In Canada, Bald Eagles were once common throughout the Maritime Provinces, the Pacific coast, and around large inland water bodies in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. In Ontario, Bald Eagles were once distributed throughout the province, from the lower Great Lakes north to the tree line. Today, Bald Eagles are common only in northern Ontario, and reach their highest nesting densities in the northwest. In southern Ontario, Bald Eagles have recovered from near extirpation in the early 1980s to establish a small, slowly increasing population. Prior to European settlement, Bald Eagles were abundant along the north shores of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. An estimated 200 pairs nested from the Ottawa River to the lower Great Lakes, and nesting densities were as high as one nest per mile of shoreline along Lake Erie. Loss of nesting and foraging habitat, through the clearing of land for agriculture, along with direct human persecution, led to a marked decline in the Bald Eagle population in the southern Great Lakes |

Dr Sharpe, if I get us some land in Ontario and donate it to IWS, can you come and get those eagles going up there? And Naturegal, can you take care of them since I freeze to death in sub 80 temperatures. I'll come and visit in the summer. |

Ok, we are back and Roy thoroughly enjoyed his brekkie! Eagle Duo/Jann superb shots...........Have they brought more sticks/twigs in? The nest looks more cluttered than it was on Sunday. Although all three birds visited the nest on Sunday there was only ever Two max at one time..At one point Roy got really excited and thought all three were there......the Cam had just refreshed after being frozen for 5 mins and it did look like there were three white heads........but on closer inspection we saw it was the breeze that was blowing one of the eagle's feathers so it did look like there were three birds! Soooooooo.....this is what I am working on and trying to figure out how to do this. We had a number of photos already posted of members.....NOW we have a lot more.BUT there are still some members who are missing. I have being going through various threads....I must be a glutton for punishment!.....and got the idea of setting up a new thread...possibly over where we put the Cruzisms as it doesn't get sooo busy over there.....may have to check with Cathy VCOE too before starting this......ARE YOU CURIOUS YET?.............The A to Z of the A-49 Cruzers.......I would start at the back and work forward to A so that when I got finished it would all be in Alphabetical order....to start with anyway...and post everyone's photo and part of their Bio, if they have submitted one, so that when we need to figure out, and especially for the new people, who is who, we could just look under say... H for Hulabird...it will all be indexed by our forum names, and the photograph of Debi will be there plus a brief bio about her. So what do you think???? Does this sound feasible?...is it something that you would want to see on the forum? |
