Good morning all - of course after I go to bed, the weekly update appears! I am going to propose that the US recognize one time zone and do away with the current program - it isn't working for me with the nest on the westie coast!! All in favor ?? ------- well it was worth a try! Really chilly here but sunny and super fall weather (I like it best) Keep the info coming - I have now discovered I need to do some research about Santa Cruz Island - ranch - who knew? and what was all of it ??? Gotta go pick up my toilet - LONG story! Will check back in an hour or so! Be well...... |

Good morning everyone. I guess Harpo and myself are the earlybirds today. Can't wait to hear the toilet story. LOL Really enjoyed the update and especially hearing about our Cruz, her buddies, and that they are doing well and are well fed. |

I see the eagle alert which was nearly an hour ago but I quickly pull up the cam and of course he's not waiting on me to get here so.... I missed him this morning - darn! Toilet: We gutted our main bathroom 4 years ago - yup 4 YEARS AGO! and now we finally decided enough - put it back so we finally have everything except the new toilet (the old one is the only thing in the room cause I don't want to run up and downstairs - yes I'm lazy) - plumber is coming in next week or so to do plumbing rough in and move the radiator! BUT who knew about toilets - do you want low or regular or right height? do you want all in one or do you want separate pieces? do you want regular flush, low flush, super suck it away flush? do you want some water, little water or ton of water? do you want regular seat or slow seat - hard seat/cushie seat? do you want round bowl or elongated? and then there's color - I JUST WANT A TOILET. So we buy a toilet only to find out that we have a main beam right where the new drain should go! And that means now wrong toilet - take it back and get 14" rough in - oh yeah, those are practically non-existent cause the manufacturer says just cut the beam (ain't his house) and if I can find a 14" - it doesn't come in the right height (I've had knee surgery couple times and am tired of squatting to a lower bowl) AND the color choice suddenly diminishes! We find a dealer who can finally accomodate our need - will take 2-3 weeks for it to arrive so I call him yesterday (a week after initial order) to pay for it - he never ordered it! So we are still at a 2-3 week wait - I was not nice - guess what - the toilet suddenly was available last night and I went to pick it up this morning - of course I'm a woman in the plumbing world of men so I was totally ignored at the store cause what could I possibly know but they sure wanted my $430 didn't they! End result - still don't have my bathroom done but working towards that - finally but I do have my toilet - right height - 14" - elongated - slow drop seat (whatever)!! but in linen cause no choice of color- Oh well - and lots of inner peace cause a few people will think twice about trying to do one on me!!! I have released that tension - vocally!!!!! (bet you're sorry you asked) Come on dad - come back to the nest .......

Harpo/Deb - the tears are rolling down my cheeks from your toilet story. You are one tough lady but you got what you want. When all is said and done and your new bathroom is installed, you must refer to your new 14" toilet as the "Throne", the word toilet caused you so much trouble. We are in the talking stages of renovating 2 bathrooms, but I keep putting it off because of what you encountered and I would be the one who has to deal with plumbers, etc. I hate the way women are treated at Home Depot or any hardware store, they think we are bimbos, but we are very smart and our knowledge deflates their ego. |

Good morning peeps. Well by the time I got back from the zoo yesterday I had to jump right in to my chores and feeding my kids and getting them to bed. Then cooked dinner, ate, and had a little inner peace befre I finally at about 8 PM gave up the ghost. I did have a look at the pictures and precious few of them came out So I'm going to get busy right now and get the ones that did come out posted. Sharon and I decided to start taking a field trip once a week or so on her days off (Wed/Thurs). Woody is all for it because he's getting worried about me never leaving the house. I guess he's afraid I'll turn into one of those crazy recluses. ![]() I missed the eagle at SC this AM while I was catching up on all the posts from yesterday. It sure doesn't help to miss a day of posts. |

Good Morning All~ Hey what is that little blue bird doing on the nest? He is really picking away at the nestovers, what could possibly be left?? OP There he goes, OP he's back, very busy birdie. Well I hope everyone has a great day. Loved that Cruz is still hanging out with her friends and really nice to see dad at the nest sneaking in after dark. Maybe he prefers the swingshift so he can have the days to lay around the beach. |

naturegal: don't you know - we've done almost all the renovations ourselves - my hubby is an architect but not experienced in practical things so as a farm do it yourself gal - I've been happy to show him what a hammer is good for!!! Relieves frustration! The kitchen was so easy compared to this little nothing bathroom! Geez .... |

Good morning all. I had pulled up the nest this morning while it was still dark , hoping to see first light now that the cam is running all the time. Imagine my surprise when K-10 flew in just as the nest was barely gaining visibility! Spectacular! He made my morning! The two very blue island scrub jays were adorable too. Harpo, you crack me up! I guess frustrations like yours make great stand up comedy because we've all had the same experience in one way or another. Glad your toilet problem is resolved. Now on to the next....er, nest. Glad to hear you are getting out more Hulabird, although you are dearly missed when you are not here. See you all later! |
