I was talking to someone about this book on our trip, maybe Ojailala, we couldn't remember the name of it. I read it when I was a young girl, it's a fantastic book and it's based on a true story apparently. I recommend it to everyone... |

Oh yeah, I realized that was what happened, so I never mentioned it. I only mentioned it now because someone talked about dating them so we could keep them separate from all the ones to come.

OK, I'm starting the 'Cruz Book Club' .. first book will be Island of the Blue Dolphins (Scott O'Dell).. Jann.. it takes place on San Nicholas Island..Everyone can read the book in the next week (short paperback) and we will have a discussion later..'Teacherlady' posted a note about the book and a twist on the truth evidently... If you go on line and check the title out, you will see lots of information... A letter in a bottle is involved..almost remember the story Still a favorite study with teachers as there are teacher's work sheets on-line. |

Yes Peppermint, please write more of your story! You're a good story teller!! For anyone who was interested in the Santa Cruz book I'm reading, I've scanned a chapter from the book and posted it under the "Videos and Photos" Forum on the "Everything else" thread. Some good historical info on the island there. Edit: It's on page 18. |
