Cumbrian, I have never accused you of not doing your share of the work around here! It's those couple hundred members who don't do any I'd like to gently remind or inform (they may not even know)! Funny, I did Kaiser Permanente, too, and GoodSearch results calls it an "insurance"! From what I know, it's a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) and that's not an insurance, a technicality, for sure since it provides medical care, but still, not an insurance plan. |

I agree. You do plenty Cumbrian. Kaiser Permanente is a huge organization and it wouldn't surprise me if they have an insurance arm also. The HMO is the part we usually associate with them. |

Kaiser is a health care provider for company health insurance benefits. I have Kaiser through my company so wouldn't that make them an insurance?? Like an insurance health plan? Oh well wait they are a hospital and a network of doctors, ah, er well now I am all confused. Nevermind. .. . Oh and I forgot to ditto the comments from Denny and Eagleduo. YEA CUMBRIANS |

Like Dave said, Kaiser is so large now, they may be into a lot of stuff. Just as Blue Cross/Blue Shield (an insurance) now has an HMO side, Kaiser (an HMO) may have an insurance side. But when they first started, technically, an HMO was not an insurance. They both provide a similar purpose, but with a different method. |

OK, not looking good. She is currently the first alternate and the lawyers haven't started dropping people yet. It turns out the judges name was Kaiser and it doesn't have any thing to do with the HMO. |

G'day everyone, My Friday Ojailala -
I read this as a child and my cousin bought it for my daughter when she was younger. I'm saving it for posterity (if I get any grandkids....) Sorry to hear about the fires.... we are looking to a huge fire season this year, not much rain and dry dry dry. Why is everyone talking about med ins? just wondered... I guess I missed something. Again, thanks for the pics this morning. Ozzie |

Naturegal: that's too funny - we need a sign for the nest then!! Cumbrian: Nope we didn't - there's a couple cats who roam a lot. I felt bad that family #2 didn't know what had happened to #1 which would explain an empty nest waiting for them to move in! The 2 robin babies were on the ground - just hatched a day or two! Nest is still there - I'm tempted to take it down so there's no repeat next year!!! Hey Oz: howdy !! We're supposed to have big winds tomorrow and heavy rains on Sat so I'm going to have make sure everything is tied down! Had some big winds last Fri too- hmm - seing a pattern here..... |

Dave said his daughter works for Kaiser and it went from there. It's basically ennui, but we talked about it anyway. I read Island of the Blue Dolphins as a kid, myself! I don't remember much about it, but I know I read it. |

I had a family of mockingbirds get attacked by ants once! They never built in that bush again. |

Harpo - In Toronto we have Kaiser rolls, delicious, but when we are on Long Island or in New York City, we get bialis, like a kaiser but with onions in the middle. We really are getting off the subject of the original Kaiser, but what the heck, we are here to have a good time and we can't always be serious. Fortunately in Canada we don't have HMO's. We go to whatever doctor we want to wherever they are located and we have a choice of what hospital we want, etc. Our system is far from perfect, but so far, it works. |
