All Eagles All The Time 2007 is an Archival/History in Videos and Still captures showing the various stages throughout the year in the lives of the Eagles on the West End Nest on Catalina Island.

First we have the Restoration of the nest....aka Nestorations by the A-49 Cruzers....The eagles started bringing sticks to their nest prior to the new year...but from January the pace has increased and the eagles are visiting regularly bringing more supplies to get the nest ready....the expectation is Eggs in February.

All these Videos and Stills have been selected by the capturers for this thread. You can see more videos and still pictures by visiting the Daily Observations thread. Now renamed Nest Watch

We ask you NOT to post comments in this thread. VIEWING ONLY PLEASE! This will enable faster viewing by Dr. Peter Sharpe and the IWS Team ... for record purposes .... and also for Members and visitors to the forum.

The Day Feathers Flew - Dianna & Wray's Squabble

December 22, 2006

Interesting Morning .... Dianna would not let Wray land on the nest ..... Captures taken by Cumbrian.

Posted Image Posted Image
Here is, I think Wray, on her approach into the nest.............certainly got the 'No landing allowed here today' from Dianna!
Posted Image Posted Image
Wray tries a little later ...............Still no joy ..............................head down in submissive mode?
Posted Image Posted Image
Dianna has spotted Wray coming ....................................... That's Wray coming in to land
Posted Image Posted Image
What's she brought? .................................................................... Checking it out!
Posted Image Posted Image
Look at the time .... It is a little later in the morning ....... Now Dianna allows Wray to land without incident! Go Figure!

Continuing their 'nestorations' on the West End nest. Couldn't see the wingblings well enough to see which two it was though there seemed to be a little 'beaking' at around 55 seconds into it, so I'm guessing one was the male.

Great captures and video Jann ...thanks ... Did it look to you, as though that was the eagle down on the rock, that flew in? .... Seemed to me, that it took off, from that direction, towards the nest.

What an 'eagle eye' you have, Cumbrian! I went back and looked and did a frame-by-frame capture and you're right! I hadn't even SEEN the eagle down there until it started flying in. But by looking at this pictures you can see it start on the rock and take off from there. It took the eagle only 5 seconds to get from the rock to the nest!

Wray moves the 'couch' i.e. a large stick all over the nest trying to find the exact right spot for it.
