All Eagles All The Time 2007/2008 is an Archival/History in Videos and Still captures showing the various stages throughout the year in the lives of the Seal Rocks Nest Eagles.

There has always been a camera focused on this nest, to enable the IWS to monitor the activities. It is one of the nests, that people, who take a tour with Dr Sharpe, stop and see, from a distance, and depending on the time of year, they may also be lucky and see the adults, and chicks, on the nest through his scope. The camera sits on the nest tree, but Dr Sharpe moved it higher up (in December/07) so that when this camera comes on-line, we will be able to see more of the area where the parents roost, rather than focusing just on the nest bowl. We are really looking forward to monitoring the events, at this nest, during the next nesting season.

Although Seal Rocks was not ‘on-line’ ... Season 2006/2007 was a very historic one for this nest. K-25 (15 year old male) and K-34 (14 year old female) were able to keep their 2 eggs this season, because they have consistently had the lowest DDE contaminant levels in their eggs over the past several years. Both eggs successfully hatched in April. These are the first chicks to hatch naturally, on Catalina Island, without human assistance, since 1945. (Pinnacle Rock was the other nest that kept their eggs and also had historic hatchings). Both eaglets successfully fledged at the end of June.

Please check out the Class of 2007 ... Another Historic Year to enjoy last season’s memories ... pictures and videos ... from February to August ... through the IWS Catalina Updates.

We look forward to watching the adult eagles return to their nest to start their Restorations ... aka Nestorations by the A-49 Cruzers ... to see if they bring in sticks and fluff, getting ready for the eggs that will be laid in March/April

The Videos and Stills .. that will eventually be posted here on this thread .. have been selected .. as their favourites ... by the members who have captured them on Nest Watch.
You can see more videos and still pictures ... at a later date ... by visiting the Daily Observations thread. Also known as Nest Watch

We ask you NOT to post comments in this thread. VIEWING ONLY PLEASE! This will enable faster viewing by Dr. Peter Sharpe and the IWS Team ... for record purposes .... and also for Members and visitors to the forum.
