George, do you know anything about Olympus cameras? Someone on another forum mentioned Olympus as something I might be interested in looking at. I have to figure out what 80% of this means though

Well, at least you did it before the Philadelphia Flower Show next month. You may have been tempted to buy even more plants then. For those not from Philly, the Flower show is put on every year by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and is the largest indoor flower show in the US if not the world. Every march philly gets bus loads of garden club members in to see the show. This years theme is "Bella Italia" and if interested you can check the show website at TheFlowerShow.com. |

Easties getting together Yeah!!!My poor Bernie needs his feet clipped so bad. He keeps getting caught on my clothes. I'm petrified to clip them for fear of seeing the right placer to cut. I tried to cut his wings and I cut his tail feather instead. Yikes. My poor neighbor is going to moving in the rain....lots of luck!! |

Sandie, I know it scares me to clip my cockatiels nails. They're feet and nails are so little (unlike eagle talons) I feel like I'll hurt them when they wiggle their toes.

The olympus 4/3 system is their attempt to be what the old pentax thread mount was in the early days of the 35mm slr. Oly lenses have always had a great reputation for sharpness and color rendition. The sensor of the oly four thirds archetecture is smaller than the other dslrs with a larger crop factor. Where the oly has one of 2x thus making the results of a 300mm appear as 600mm lens on a typical 35mm film frame camera the other rivals such as the canon and nikon the 300 equates to more like the angle of view as seen from a 450mm. One other benefit of the oly system is that the panasonic DSLR and also one of the leica slr bodies (at a huge price by comparison) can use the oly lenses as well as lenses made by Leica. The two lenses you mention would be great for low light or action shooting because they are faster than many other longer length lenses which are f4.5. When i got my nikon F100, i wanted a FAST zoom and spent 1600.00 for their 80-200 AFD S f2.8 lens. In saying this, you will learn that fast or very long lenses or both are often as much as if not even more expensive than teh camera body itself cost, |
