Laurie, it's funny about these birds. They come in for 15 to 30 minutes in the morning. Then I don't see them again. But when they come, they bring the whole family. I'll try to get a picture.

Are you all wearing red today. Something red to wear for American Heart Associactio?

It's still raining and we are supposed to have snow in the mountains. I wish I had that fireplace to sit in front of right now.

School was fun last night. It was really interesting too. I forget about our core self our private self our public self and our withdrawn self. There is one more but I forgot. It's wonderful to know we are different people inside ourselves. I just love to listen to Clark lecture. I always learn something. I wore orange for my birthday. I never wear orange but I picked that color to wear that day. Did you know it signifies happiness and party? Warm orange is best. The color of a sunset. Good stuff to know.

Marti, I haven't see any since last fall, I'll probably see them at my feeders sometime in March, whole bunches of them. They can be mean, they chase off the other birds for a few weeks.

It's amazing how many different birds you will see that you "never" saw before. Enjoy your new bird feeder. I've enjoyed watching and reading up about all the birds at my feeder.

I think red wing blackbirds like to be near the edges of forrests and near some form of wetland such as a stream ,swamp or marsh. Here i rarely see them but when i do there is normally some wetland near them FWIW

There are peregrines that live in NYC - I forget exactly where, I don't think there are any in Central Park. There are some of the high skyscraper ledges that have had nests built on them.

Some recent photographs of Eagle #08-887 in one of the Center’s large flight pens.
Yes, that IS a Christmas tree in the background in some of the photos. Center rehabilitators
have placed undecorated trees in outdoor pens for environmental enrichment and variety.

DS DD and ES and I all rode Top Thrill ------- eeeeeegads!

but andi is right - love the Millenium - I love any roller coaster - WOO HOO

Yes Pale Male is still on the same ledge - if you go to Central Park on the East side - there's a little boating pond and someone is always there with a scope so you can see - I've posted photos of our sightings before! here's a link to more info and Ian has it - red tailed hawk!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pale_Male

there are supposed to be hawks or falcons hmmm not sure which it was - down by Battery Park but we haven't seen them yet on our visits - of course we'll keep looking!

Central Park Zoo - a couple $$ and a great way to spend a couple hours!

On Friday's we have to wear our Blue Credit Union Shirts, but, I do have my Brighton Heart Association Necklace on. The back of the necklace that's against your heart simply says "love your heart".
