Paula!! Thank you so much for posting the link here for the Caltrans eagles! I wasn't sure where to put it - and it seemed no one knew about it!

I was so happy I caught that ... don't watch the cam regularly. It's been an eggciting weekend with all the egg laying! :**: :**: But you all know what this means don't you?? We'll be :hair: when they all :^: at the same time!! :D

An earlier post today indicated there was a plane crash Thursday on Catalina Island resulting in the death of three people. This has not been a good year for air accidents on Catalina. In May '08 a helicopter went down at Two Harbors resulting in the death of one person. Three months ago a plane went off the end of the runway at The Airport in the Sky killing three people and now on Thursday three more people lost their lives near Mt. Orizaba after taking off from The Airport in the Sky. I flew into that airport only once and only because the little seaplanes were grounded a few days before I was to make my trip to the island. As we approached the air strip the pilot said "I think we'll try this again" and began to pull up quickly. The airstrip was shrouded in clouds. We circled and made another attempt...he found an opening in the clouds and put it down. I was so glad to exit that airplane. The little seaplanes (we called them pontoon planes) were fun. Taking off on the water was so much fun...racing along the water at full speed, bouncing up and down until take off and once in the air watching the pilot crank up the wheels. That was the way to get to the island.

Chiquita

My husband and I flew over there all the time to do lunch. If you don't know what you are doing...dangerous place. People don't realize it if it's the first time going there. Then some are just over confident and find themselves in a big mess.

George they left him here :8O: :8O: Who knows why they were searching. The other night the cop that talked to me said they were keeping their eyes open on # 7. But I don't think it's the guy that is on the lease....I think it's the guy that "stays" with him. I believe the guy actually lives there. I heard the cops ask the guy if he has a pickup which the other guy actually drives.

I just called the police station and they said one guy can have a gun the other one can not. They are going to call me back in just a little bit. I said you should just camp out over here. He said this was the third call out here today and they just got another call.

Yes, Marcie, it is a cake. Glad you like it. I've done cake decorating myself, but I didn't make this cake. Looks like a fun one to try some time.

I've been getting text messages and 1 picture from Deb & Gary from their eagle-watching trip. They're having a fabulous time and seeing a lot of eagles. Have seen over 30 so far. Some a couple lock talons. Think they have a picture of it, but will know more when they get home and see what it looks like on the computer. Didn't see the catch, but they also saw an eagle carrying a fish. What a grand birthday show they're putting on for them.

Here's one phone Deb sent via cell phones 'from the camera' Not sure what she means by that, but wondering if she took a picture with her cell phone of a preview from the camera. That would explain the textured look of the picture.

i've got 5 jokes from Nelly/kletskop to put them here....

don't go to the anwers first read.......hahhaha....

FIVE RIDDLES.......

THE ANSWERS ARE AT THE BOTTOM...........

1.. A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms. The first is full of raging fires. The second is full of assassins with loaded guns. The third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest for him?

2. A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him under water for over 5 minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But 5 minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. How can this be?

3. What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and gray when you throw it away?

4. Can you name three consecutive days without using the words Wednesday, Friday, or Sunday?

5. This is an unusual paragraph. I'm curious as to just how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it. It looks so ordinary and plain that you would think nothing was wrong with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is highly unusual though. Study it and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out. Try to do so without any coaching!

THE ANSWERS TO ALL FIVE THE RIDDLES ARE BELOW:

Answers:

1. The third room. Lions that haven't eaten in three years are dead. That one was easy, right?

2. The woman was a photographer. She shot a picture of her husband, developed it, and hung it up to dry (shot; held under water; and hung).

3. Charcoal, as it is used in barbecuing.

4. Sure you can name three consecutive days, yesterday, today, and tomorrow!

5. The letter e, which is the most common letter used in the English language, does not appear even once in the paragraph.
