Andie, yes he is well loved by me. Spoiled really  . Glad you enjoy his pictures. He tried to get me up at 6:30am this morning, licking my face, chewing on my hair etc. Didn't work though, he finally settled down and snuggled up with me and we went back to sleep until 8ish. |

Finished Ice Palace:![]() Finished Pirate ship: ![]() The lighting will take place tonight with Fireworks. Not sure if I'm going to go or not, depends on how my back is feeling. Not having a good day with it right now. But I will be sure to take pictures sometime this week at night when it's all lit up. It's really hard right now to get pictures without people around it. |

I have to give them a LOT of credit. With all the freezing temps we've had. working around the clock to put the Ice Palace together. They did an awesome job. We have rain in our forecast tonight. Hope it doesn't happen. Let it snow this week. I haven't done much this morning either, showered and did my dishes. Moving kinda slow today. I really should get something done. |

Laurie that Ice Sculpture is really beautiful. The blue color coming out of it is icing on the cake so to speak. Do they do that each year? How many days does it take? How many people at one time are working on it? WOW very nicely done! |

Yes The Ice Palace is done each year, a new design every year. They've been working on it for about two weeks now. Not sure how many people have helped out quite a few though. Prisoners from a nearby minimum security facility always help out, but it's mostly volunteers. I haven't been inside the Palace yet. Next trip I will walk through it. Last year we almost didn't have an Ice Palace since we had unusually warm temps and the lake didn't freeze very deep by January. They have to have at least 8 inches of ice to beable to cut the blocks. So last year they put the palace up in one week. Then it rained. . . The Ice Palace will stay standing as long as it is "safe" usually a couple of weeks. |
