George, Photoshop is doing things that I don't understand again - I was looking at my BAEA shot from yesterday to see if it could be cropped down a bit:http://www.flickr.com/photos/79774811@N00/...57613461153797/ I tried opening it up and then resaving it in PSD format to work with it, and then using the cropping tool to cut it down. However no matter what I seem to do (I've tried viewing raw pixels as well as fit to screen) it seems to want to blow up whatever I've cropped it down to back up to a large size (and it's doing very strange things too, the resulting image file ends up being HUGE). I'm not sure what it's doing differently - I know I've managed to crop images and have it just give you a correspondingly smaller image file with the same resolution. I don't know what I did to do that. Unfortunately because of the early morning lighting conditions looking at it in full resolution I think the focus is just a little off (I need my DSLR !!!). So I'm not sure how much it can be enlarged after cropping without it starting to look too blurry. I wonder whether there could be some tweaking done with the lighting as well, but I want to fix the cropping problem first. Do you have any idea? |

Ian & George, just a thought......since a lot of people are just beginning to learn Photoshop, maybe these questions could be asked and answered in the Tech Help thread so they are easier to find and don't get buried with time? |

I downloaded your shot and opened it with PS elements 6. Cropped it tighter and used the auto adjust function and sized it to roughly 5x7" with the resolution changed from 180 to 90dpi. Then hit the Save as and saved this as a jpg. ![]() EDITED: Ian, I sent you a PM. |

Deb and ES awesome pictures. You sure had a super day at the Hudson. I'm jealous. Thank you for sharing your wonderful pictures and your day with us. Ian I love your pictures too. You all are so lucky. I haven't seen any of our eagles around for a long time. See all of your pictures are really awesome. Thanks. Actually I love all the eagle pictures thanks to everyone who share them. Marti 6.5 Carnival news. DH and I didn't go to the fireworks or the lighting of the Palace. DH and I were having such a good time at the Inn last night, a good DH and karaoke, we stayed until about 12:30am. However, the pirate ship no longer has it's mast or flags. It was pretty windy and some of the fireworks sort of went in the direction of the pirate ship and the mast and flags went up in flames. FD had to put the fire out. They shouldn't have had the fireworks last night with the wind, too many houses and people around. |

I haven't been able to get the Sooner Lake nest cam this morning so here is a screencap from yesterday... Mom is up giving her egg some air...seems like a 'normal' size to me.
