LaLa -Thanks. :Hugs: Never realized turtles are so timid. I have to sneak around trees and shrubs quietly to view them and when they hear the click of the camera they usually run into the pond and take off. Today, I was lucky. :P

Carole, I'm so glad they did such a cute pose for you. You have to be very stealth around those cute pond turtles. I just love turtles, so seeing them in the wild was great. Again, you're so lucky. I have seagulls waking me up each morning on the beach! My favorites are the sandpipers and Pelicans, and our daily surfing dolphins.

Well, I finally found out when i had to report to the hospital's short procedure unit for my leg job tomorrow. grr.....i am to show up at noon with surgery expected to be around 2PM. The problem for me is that i am not to eat or drink after midnight and with the insulin flowing into me there could be some problems. Have made three calls since last week to my diabetologist regarding what should be done and have yet to hear from them. #$@#$#@$ Normally i would suspect this surgery is a walk in the park for most folks but the diabetes is what can be the monkey wrench in the works.

sorry for the venting

I just had to post these two photos. I saw this little guy at our local "Convention Center By the Sea". His owner worked in the office. He is the size of a very small Chihuahua. He has a short redish coat. But coming out of that short hair are long whisps of hair which didn't really show up well in my photos. He is a mix of Chihuahua and Shih Tzu . :P It looked like some one added these extra whisps of hair all over him. Sooooo cute. His name was Sir Albert Norman. He was about six months old.

George: it seems the surgeon isn't taking your whole health into consideration here....makes no sense to expect a diabetic to not eat at all for over 14 hours...yikes.

George, wishing you the best for your surgery tomorrow. With your diabetes, it would have been a lot better for them to have scheduled it early in the day, but I'm sure you have to accommodate someone else's schedule instead of the other way around. Sure hope you can get a hold of your doctor today.

You can always use the technique of a guy I worked for years ago. We sold computers for a new company that is very big today. He used to call for the President, Steve Jobs rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl and when they told him Steve Jobs couldn't talk for whatever reason, my boss would just say, "I'll hold," and the secretary would try to explain that it might be a long while and my boss would say, "I will hold forever." You wouldn't believe how effective that was! He almost always got to speak with Steve Jobs in a very short time.

Anyway, just know that we will all be thinking about you tomorrow and hoping that the surgery will be successful, easy, and will help your pain. Please check in with us as soon as you can.

I guess that would make him a 'Designer' dog then rofl Is his coat an Indy 500 checkered flag? Couldn't quite read it, but it is a nice one.

He is very cute Marti
and so are the various birds. Nice to see them in warmer climes :)^

George, when my DH has a question, I call the doctors office and ask to speak with the nurse. She answers any health/medication questions. Maybe you could check if there is someone to talk to at your surgeon's office and make them aware of the issues. Speak Up! Don't wait!! Call now.

One of your pond turtles must have been a 'ballerina' in it's former life Carole
Do they both do that acrobatic foot elevation thing? I <3 it !!!

The closest I've ever been to a turtle in the wild was as a child on a beach on the Indian Ocean when my family lived in Pakistan. Very large sea turtles would come up on the beaches to lay their eggs in the sand. They were so huge, slowly lumbering up to a higher spot, using their flippers to dig out a huge bowl and then laying what looked like hundreds of eggs. Once finished, the female would then cover up the eggs with her back flippers again and slowly move back to the water. It must be very hard for them to move on land because of their weight :o

Often, it wouldn't be long before the dingo's (wild dogs) would show up to get their fill of fresh, hot turtle eggs :(

Please be careful about discussing that cartoon here...it is both political and racist...not to mention violent and in very poor taste in light of other events.

For once, I have to agree.

Me too how cruel some people are!

Dr says eye is OK?????? It still droops tho. He said he thinks it's just dry and sticking. Well it didn't do that before????

Ireland....green!

Lala poor hat....Is it a gonner?

Squish  He gets cuter and cuter

Carole I'm jealous of all the lovely wildlife you get to see.

Lots of creatures big and small I'm sure hang out around the >>: cleaning place.

Ravens :8O: :8O:

East winds :( = bad sinus

Snow is almost all melted.

The ocean is just fabulous. It's like you could reach out and touch the islands

Whale watching trip next wed :^:

Peetie any new kitty at your place yet?

I heard the woman with the chimp admitted she did not give him zanax but still :'( for everyone involved.

They are cleaning out the place where they hauled away the drug dealer yesterday. I wouldn't go near that place....mgr found all kinds of needles in there. Very dangerous.

Just heard the guy that slashed my tires is on the loose. He probably fled to Mexico. He will be in prison for a long long time if they catch him. His wife and MIL still live across the street. I guess they were not involved with the murder or couldn't prove that they were.
