WEll thanks all for your support!!!!! Just thought I would appear before schlepping into philly for the leg mending. Unlucky for me, I dont have to be there until noon with the cutting to commence approximately at 2. I can hear my stomach growling now and its only been since midnight that ive not eaten,

I will report my progress later this afternoon/evening when i gimp my way back to the asylum here. :}^

Eaglepedia Revisited:

May 19, 2007

The functions of an eagles nest include a place to incubate the eggs, nurseries for the hatchlings and a hiding place for brooding parents - vulnerable to predators and the weather. Bird instinctively build nests and get more skilled with practice, making thousands of trips with sticks and grasses to build the nest. Hormonal changes trigger the instinct to begin the building process, brought on by longer days in the spring. Courtship, mating and brooding are all driven by hormones with external factors playing a part. The sound of bird song and the availability of food also have been shown to induce nesting. In addition, some birds build nests before they court or use nestbuilding as part of their courtship ritual. The mere sight of eggs induces some female birds to brood, while the site of brooding females can induce males of some species to sit on the clutch.
