I have to add my thanks to ALL of you! It was almost a year ago that I first found the link to the PH nest, then to this forum. You all have given me many pleasurable hours, and immeasurable knowledge of the eagles (and many other things, lol)! :D

Whispy: my dad worked on Granby Dam. It was his first job out of college as a civil engineer. They lived in a government camp/cabins while they were building it which I believe is now all under water. My mom still gets misty eyed talking about those days of living there. They were a tight knit group living there and I think the best of times for the young marrieds starting families. I know they even had their own basketball team....for fun, of course...and my dad and a neighbor bought a fishing boat together. Their backyard was the lake and he used to often fish after work every day. Ahhhh....the good life of the post-war era...truly a beautiful part of Colorado. I am envious of them living in the Rockies...I wasn't born until they moved to the next job in western Kansas. But we did often go back and visit family friends in Colorado.

Wow, sounds quite idyllic! Especailly back before so many others moved there. Sigh....

I have, it's really nice. Nice beach too.
There is a very nice small cabin type hotel also very close,
maybe even connected to the campgrounds.
DH and I keep meaning to go stay there for a night or two.
