well the Nature Conservancy contacted me today and wanted to know if they could use my/gary's photo of Peter which was taken on our 2007 tour. Here's where they used it today:

http://www.nature.org/wherewework/northame...lgehistory.html

(my photo credit is at the bottom of the page)

so goes to show - you never know who is reading which posts in which threads! rofl

(I also had gary talking to Dr. Sharpe but they said no thanks :( rofl

My gal pals and I camp often at El Capitan, there's a great trail on the beach that leads to Refugio Beach/Campground. A great walk! Also, the campsites in the '70's' have the best ocean views around! The little cabins are a bit pricey, a friend from High School's family used to run it, and even with the discount, it was a lot more than good ol' campin'. The cabins are between $135 to $285 per night. eeekkkk. :o

THIS WAS POSTED BY CUMBRIAN/PAT ---THANK YOU PAT FOR PUTTING THE REASON FOR THIS FORUM FRONT AND CENTER AND FOR ALL THE HOURS AND HOURS YOU PUT IN EVERY SINGLE DAY! :><: :><: My thanks to Jann and several others who are dedicated to N.O. each day for all that is done here FOR EAGLES OF THE CHANNEL ISLANDS.

Thank you Pat, this part of your post and these, your words below, --- deserves repeating: :ok:

PAT'S WORDS:
"This forum was created to encourage folks to learn more about Bald Eagles .. and to post what they saw happening on that one nest on Santa Cruz Island.

We have all become eagleholics and have created ... in my opinion ... one of the best Bald Eagle Resources not only for biologists but for everyone.

Yes ... the pages on Nest Observations do add up ... because the folks that post on there are enjoying watching the nests and are sharing that enjoyment with others that may not be as fortunate to be able to watch during any given day or time.

It is all about choice. You watch the nests .. and comment on what you see. Or you do not watch the nests .. for whatever reason .. and play catch up later.

We all do our best ... the videos and captures started because we didn’t want a couple of members who were going on vacation to miss Cruz fledging.

And so it began ....

Just a few thoughts ... from your Nestorian."

That's alot,
but for those who want to be close to nature with all the comforts of home,
it's a cool place to stay.
You can also zip on over to Solvang for dinner.
Do they have a spa? :bld:
Geez I don't sound like much of a camper do I?

A nursery school teacher was delivering a station wagon full of kids home one day when a fire truck zoomed past. Sitting in the front seat of the truck was a Dalmatian dog. The children started discussing the dog's duties. 'They use him to keep crowds back,' said one child. 'No,' said another, 'he's just for good luck.' A third child brought the argument to a close. 'They use the dogs,' she said firmly, 'to find the fire hydrants...

Cathy, you're too funny. I admit, when we camp, we're in an RV, all the creature comforts. Maybe I should invite my friend with her RV?? I haven't slept on the ground in years and years. Although, I'm going camping to Santa Cruz Island in October, and not much choice there but the ground. :8O:

As for a Spa, they do have massages and stuff....They have packages with massage and stuff for $475 per night! I'll take the Ritz Carlton for that much money.
:)^
