Thanks Naturegal. I like your pictures of the blue heron and all the other pond visitors too! Here's a blue heron taken at Gring's Mill last year.

okay GEORGE this is awesome pic...but...what i ment and have in my mind that when you make this pic with a wide lens how much do you see more at the same pic ??? the squirrel and the tail from the bird for example ??? [/QUOTE] yes you would see more of the bird, meal and the grass he was dining on as you shortend the length of the lens Immagine you can see 180 degrees in front of you which using my boat shot example is the horizon when shooting with a 35mm lens as you go up in focal length that 180 degrees decreases and are only covering a smaller portion of the 180 degrees a narrower angle of view. immagine that the area you are viewing is half of a circle surrounding you. the wide angle lens lets you see EVERYTHING in the viewfinder that is the 180 degrees in front of you. a longer lens you still see the ,useing the boat example a smaller portion of that 180 degree circle of view and even less as you increase the lenght of your lens you decrease the distance of that circle of view you are seeing thru the lens Long lens =narrow angle of view or field of vision Short lens= wider angle of view and vision hence why theyre called a wide angle lens |

The Northwest and San Francisco flower shows will close their doors after this year. The New England Flower Show announced the closing of it's show after a 137 year run. The Southeastern Flower Show in Atlanta has downsized. The Philadelphia Flower Show remains the largest and oldest indoor show in the world. All this info from an article in our San Diego Union today indicating decreasing attendance, fewer corporate sponsorships and a smaller pool of exhibitors have contributed to the decision to call it quits. Too bad. A sign of the times. Chiquita |

I love that Eagle Saddle. Very expensive I'm sure with such detail. I would imagine The Eagle itself wood, and the remaining part Hand carved leather. If the entire thing were constructed of wood it would be pretty heavy, not to mention uncomfortable. Talk about saddle sores. |

Paula .. that western eagle saddle is awesome!!! Thanks for posting that. I have lots of people I have to share that one with. An 8-string saddle is an old leather western saddle so I think that it is the leather that was carved to look like an eagle. It is absolutely incredible!!!

yeah the philly show has folks come from all over the world to both visit and exhibit. our show opens on march 1 and is a big draw of visitors each year. This years theme i think is Flora Italia with an italian theme. Ive not gone to view it in a long time but with my digital cameras and macro lens i am hopefully going to be able to shoot some blooms there. I hope to attend mid week perhaps on wednesday to avoid the crowds of visitors. The weekend that the show opens is mobbed as is the last weekend of the show. I think wednesday is a good day to go because most tourists and many groups prefer the weekend or the following monday or the friday before the show closes. I hope to be able to go early enough on wednesday before any charter groups even get off their busses. Of course, if i DO go ill share shots from it ![]() I have some photography withdrawl pains nownot having shot that many images in the past couple of months and i am jonesing for a photo fix before my shutter release finger starts to have withdrawl tremors to avoid a commerical link ill just give the first part of the name the COM:<:: pany who runs it, uses for the show information. Show is put on yearly by the Pennsylvania horticultural Society check out TheFlowerShow dot com |

Chiquita a sad sign of the times. That's really too bad that we are losing such long standing events. Peetie that is so wonderful that you can get the information you need from George. It even almost made sence to me and I don't do anything but point and shoot. I had to go across the alley to do my laundry and right now my back and foot hurts so much. The Dr says the nerve in the bottom of my foot is outta whack. If it doesn't get better with this ice he's going to have to shoot it up....
I sat down for a few min's just to give it a rest now I have to jump up and put it all away. Yikers. Lala I can't wait to do that recipe. I'm wondering if it would taste good with the cinnamon swirl bread? Or was it really ok with the french bread? Well, stupid question really huh? |

Actually, Sandie, I think the cinnamon swirl bread might work out OK, in fact, I have made french toast with the CSB and everyone liked it. Maybe you could find a loaf with thick slices. Ever try putting a thin layer of cream cheese between two slices of french bread...fry it up with the cream cheese between the slices...a bit rich but good. I have not been to a flower show in many years and then only to the Garden/Flower Show which is at the Del Mar Fairgrounds just north of us in Del Mar, CA. It, in no way, can compare to the large shows like in Philly. It would take me forever to get through one of those big shows...I need to look at EVERYTHING. Chiquita |

Chiquita Girl...What are you trying to do to me here... Cream Cheese and half a pound of butter??? Now that cannot be bad. ...cream cheese would not hurt this recipe and I think you can use any bread you wish... it has cinnamon in the custard.

W O W!!! No never tried that. Sounds good tho. I just can't wait to try it. The person that came out and put all my boxes away was so great but I can't find the recipe I need. I think it's in there and I can't get to it. Reflexologist I've heard of that but can't remember what they do Patti. I'm taking some med's and say forget this!! Oh and us my ice. I think it's snowing in the mountains. It really looks dark over there. It might rain here today too. |
