Well, that was one great Oscar Show.... will be hard to beat... just loved everything about it.. Sophia Loren and the other actresses, handing off the Oscar to Kate.. what a concept that someone came up with... I did pretty good with my ballot, 18/24.. fell apart at the end.. picked Micky and not Penn... altho I wanted Penn to win... Micky lost his little dog this week and I thought it would be a good ending for him... oh well... I even loved the Mastercard commercial with the little lost bulldog... making his way back home .. I was crying like I didn't know it was a commercial... :boohoo: :boohoo: Hope you all enjoyed it... Now you know why the final 'Bachelor' was not on tonight... it wouldn't have had a chance in the ratings....

I don't normally watch the oscars but after Amazing Race I put it on and kind of got sucked in. I agree - think it was a nice elegant presentation!

What!!! I missed Amazing Race?? and I could have taped it... what is wrong with me Harpo... Was it good tonight???

By the way, I think the camera buffs are doing pretty good in using the other video/camera forum today... it is new and we are getting use to it.. but we still should be able, like George did today, to post simple answers to questions.... if you go to that site, you will see it is being used.... anything that is space consuming we will try and post there.... :clk:

Our Model A Ford club (12 A's) joined the Santa Ynez club (8 A's) yesterday & toured the Log House just off Hwy 101 between Buellton & Gaviota(clickable)(I took 200 photos!) Here's one with all the A's-

Very Cool.... How do you get to tour that house? I see it all the time and would love to see inside.

I drove up to Ft. Collins today to see if I could find any Eagles at Fossil Creek Reservoir. It was a location that I was unaware of until someone on this Forum shared an article about it. To my chagrin, the trail that takes you closest to the trees where Eagles are usually sighted was closed (I could see a couple of birds roosting, but the trees were about a mile away...down that closed trail).

But I stayed around a while and found some others. My photos aren't nearly as dramatic as the others today, but I wanted to share my adventure with you.

There was a large Golden Eagle or Bald Eagle that stood on the edge of the ice for a while. My lens wasn't strong enough to get him up close, but my binoculars gave me a great show. Later, an adult surprised me with a quick flash, but he decided to roost on the back side of a tree trunk, so I only got a glimpse.

I also had fun watching a couple of Flickers flick, and a Lark sang a beautiful song. Thought of all of you...and met some very nice people along the way.

Have a great week, everyone.

P.S. - And Happy Birthdays to Kris and Judy!

Andrea my husband used to live in Fort Collins. We never made it there. It was one of the things we always wanted to do. Glad you got to go and get a peek at some great birds.

I was sad that Mickey didn't win but he is on his way back and that makes me happy and I thought Heath's award was very touching and glad to see all the family receive it.

The set was really smashing. A great new look and I really liked the way they awarded the Oscar this year. Great idea.
