QUOTE=petra,Feb 22 2009, 08:15 AM] market...type AF-S DX NIKKOR 35 mm f/1.8G can you help me with this ??? i see explainings on internet but not examples from same pic's with telelens and widelens only pic's from telelens and widlens who are different/apart....
Well, I can send you a shot of a subject using the dx 35mm focal length of my 18-55mm VR DX lens and i can reshoot the same shot using the 70mm length lens to show you the range of view. I shall send them to you via PM . That lens is not a bad lens. Would be great in lower light due to the wider f 1.8 apeture than what the 35mm of the zoom AF 18-55mm DX which is 3.5? which makes the 35mm prime 2 stops faster. BTW over on hte photo-video thread I posted a write up on all the terms used for nikon lenses over the years that you may want to check out. it is one of the longest posts i have even made on any message board.
heey guy you aren't asleep...how are you btw ? yeah please send me the pic's i'm so very curious... LALA send me some too... i wanna see the difference before i make a choice of course... thanks a lot ....
I sent them to you via PM so they should be in your mailbox! Just a wing up. when you see the DX with nikon lenses that means they are for DIGITAL cameras and the focal lengths are EXACTLY what they say. Any without the DX are for film bodied nikons and then the effective focal length is 1.5x the focal length EDITED -the shots i sent you via pm were taken from the same spot of the same subject. If you notice as the focal length went up, the narrower the field of view is. Hence why they call a 35mm lens a wide angle lens because of teh angle of view or the area covered by the lens onto teh sensor. The last shot shows only a smaller area magnfied to fit the frame |
