:'( How awful about the eagle nest!!! Why couldn't they wait until nesting season was over. It makes my blood boil too Paula.

Laurie... Lookie!!! The "Y" branch is coming back!!! :><:

Still on cloud 9 after yesterday's egg laying festivities at PH. How much fun is this? :)^

I can somewhat understand them moving the nest but it should have waited until the baby's fledged. Or the nest should have been moved bofore breeding season.

Lori, isn't that awesome that the Y branch is back. I was watching snow and Ice fall of the limb earlier today. :D :)^

WOO HOO I'm excited :**: - I went out at lunch and picked up my new camera - a Canon 40D body and kit with EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM. I finally decided yesterday to take the plunge since I was really leaning toward the 40D over the past few days, and I decided to start looking at prices last night. When I called one store out in Calgary last night they told me they had sold out of their stock of the 40D, so I figured I'd better make sure that if I want the 40D I get it before stores move out all their stock for the 50D.

Posted Image

I got a great price on the kit - $1149 for the body and lens, which is noticeably less than the 50D of course now that the 50D is out, and that was also $200 less than the other local camera shops I checked. As it turns out I might have lucked out since they only had one of the kit left on the shelf, and at first they thought I was some other guy who had also called about the 40D last night rofl

I didn't bother buying the longer 400mm lens yet - I'll hunt around for good prices on that as well, and I'm sure I'll want to spend a fair amount of time learning the camera first before trying to put that big honking thing on the end of it anyway.

Thanks George for all your advice - I seriously considered the Nikon as well, particularly the D90, although what I think finally pushed me towards Canon was that the Canon version of the lens I want to get had a bit better reviews than the equivalent Nikon one. I'll take the money I saved getting the older 40D model and put that aside for future lenses or accessories, and I figure at some point if I find I really do want a body with newer features it's easy to upgrade the body down the road.

When I get home tonight it will be time to start going through the goodies :clk:

I think part of the problem was they already tried removing the nest off-season and the eagles just rebuilt it again - although it's a shame for the egg that was laid, it might well turn out to be more effective and better in this case to force the eagles to move to a new location, but late enough that they can't rebuild there and are forced to hopefully successfully breed in a new location. They may then be able to get them to switch permanently to that new location as their primary nest site.

:}^ everyone ...

We are digging out from under about 12 inches of snow that fell during the day yesterday ... I was too busy in NW to notice :o .. and last night!

Prefer the rain ... don't have to shovel that!

Welcome to all the new members ....

:Hugs: to all that need them.

It's getting busy at the nests ... hope you keep checking in the AEATT threads ... if you are short of time ... to play catch up.
