Ian, with your love and knowledge of birds, you will be taking some amazing pictures in the future... I'm pretty happy with what I have for now.. any stronger lens and I would have to use a tripod... which I should do half the time now.. but bird photography is too fast....unless it is a nest.. then a tripod is great...Congratulations!!! :clk: :)^ :clk: :)^ (plus, my stuff all fits in one shulder bag)

I wonder why someone, like IWS, doesn't just offer to take the egg & incubate it?

Craig Koppie should have taken down the nest last fall....he knows better....they had to have known there was an eagle incubating in the nest....these facts are what really piss me off.

They tried trimming the branches back that the eagles used....and it did force them from the nest to their back up nest last year...so they should have taken the nest down this past fall, when the eagles weren't refurbishing yet.

And now they are going to take down the tree too, just to make sure.

And I guess they didn't feel the eggs were worth saving...or even fostering to a zoo eagle....

Hmm something just doesnt smell right to me wiht this. I THOUGHT one was prohibited by law to disturb an active nest for Eagles? Isnt that one reason B-)) and :<S><: are limited to where when and why the can get to the nests once nesting season starts??

Of course, with :<S><: B-)) , they also have to have maintain the integrity of the nests to provide them with usefull scientific data dont they?

I guess since the FWS is the final authority, they don't have to answer to anyone! :(

WOO HOO I'm excited  :**:  - I went out at lunch and picked up my new camera - a Canon 40D body and kit with EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM.

Congrats on the 40d from canon! I know alot of folks who shoot with them and are quite happy. Now you can shop for deals for longer lenses than the 17-85mm lens

In the good ole days of 35mm film 85mm was a geat portrait lens length to have in ones arsenal.

Trust me today it is the 40d , tomorrow the 400mm L and the next hte 1D mk3 (about 8k body only) this is why i say photog is like a heroin habbit. very addicitive and almost as costly but is non lethal. :P )

Of course that is if ones significant other doesnt wring your neck for buying "another peice of camera crap" instead of that fancy new washer they absolutely must have first rofl
