Good morning all looks like George is sleeping in today. Deb hope your right about another egg in a day or two @ P.H. I know in the past she has always had two, was thinking maybe this year they'll go for three! Wouldn't that be something! I'd be happy with the two though especially with a better outcome then we had last year. |

Hello and Good Morning to all my eagle lover friends. It's great to have a new day, and a new perspective on life. I was up a 2:00am thinking about what our PH birds have gone through in there short breeding time. How many little ones they have lost, eggs cracked, Limuw hit by a car, Skye & Spirit ripped out of the nest. In all of this they never lose heart, they are always together, bonded. As each new year comes they try again, and again. What an example to us to never give up. What a priviledge to be allowed to share there experiences. We are truly blessed. I hope you all find something special in each day that you are here. Have a wonderful day, and many happy eagle sightings. eagleaddict

It is these characteristics which have just made me think of the perfect name for one of this years eaglets when the time comes. "Intrepid" to symbolize not only the Eagles drive and determination but also all those who have helped both here on islands and elsewhere to hopefully restablish a successfull self sufficient poplulation for the future. (such as those of the IWS staff, blackwater, norfolk et al) |

Reminder too! A wing up. The blackwater site says the start of this years flock of eaglets should start comming out of their shell at blackwater starting about Feb 27th or 28th. We could see our first eaglet of 2009 by Monday if we are lucky!!! ![]() EDITED From the blawater eagle cam screen: "...At this point, we expect hatching to start sometime around February 27 or 28, if the eggs are fertile." |

Good morning Eagleholics. I thought I would share this information posted at the blackwater site: 02/26/09: For those who feed suet to birds, there has been a recall of certain types of suet that may contain peanut meal from the Peanut Corp. of America’s plant in Georgia. Click on this link for more information: http://www.petproductnews.com/headlines/20...t-products.aspx Speaking of Blackwater. anytime now. Having an issue with a faculty member. Going down to chat with my boss for a bit. BBL. |
