WE because this is a thought and not an observation I decided to bring it over here. I see and hear Wray on the nest . I htink I love this bird Anyway she is quite old and I saw the female at Norfolk after she delivered I think it was egg 2 almost collapse in the nest. There is part of me who is concerned or Wray at her age laying these eggs. I will be very glad to see the eggs safely in the nest and Wray happily incubating. JMHO but doesn't jell much with what folks are actually seeing or thinking on the NO thread. Maybe its because I worked all night and am too tired to be in Labor and Delivery

LOL both eating at WE now, he finally said enough already, if you're not going to eat I am, tired of waiting for you to get over your pout. As soon as he took a bite she decided to dig in too but still still seems to be walking on the pity path from the noises she is making. |

I too worry about how old she is getting, know the answer is over on one of the threads but no time to go look. How old before they stop laying eggs on average and do they get a few responsibility free years then or is it lay until you pass over. (he he he passover - lent, I crack myself up )

I worry too - I think Peter posted a year or so ago that eagles live to reproduce - they pair to reproduce - that's what they do - keep the species alive! So I'm guessing that means as long as she's able, she'll lay eggs! Just hope it's not difficult for her and that in the end all goes well (actually I worry about all of them all the time)

Dr. Sharpe says they lay eggs until they die, as far as he knows. Wray is over 20 years old and so was Dianna, who bonded last year with 01 and disappeared.
The Norfolk Mom did seem to take it hard, delivering that egg. As was mentioned on NO, their first egg wasn't until March 6 last year, so they may just be 'in waiting'. Prayers and positive thoughts to Trish and her Mom. We're there with you in spirit.

Lauren - that's a good question about how long they would produce etc. - you should post that in the question thread for Peter to address! It's been a while since those questions posed and maybe he could give a response - maybe too how long Wray's lifespan would as a wild eagle.........

Thank Peetie Sweetie. You are the BEST! Just got back from my Mani Pedi and feel somewhat human again. At least I can now make a fist with my nails digging into the palms of my hands! They Pedicure was a lot of fun since I am so ticklich just like my Dad was. The leg massage was GREAT! Since I run myself ragged in the Office it was so nice to sit, and chill out being pamered. Ahhh. Next stop I have to eat, and then get my car detailed. I had no idea how bad it was. I checked it out while I was driving, and I'm arfaid they have ther're work cut out for them today. I'm sure it will be going through the line several times. The Manager inspect's all vehicles, and if he doesn't pass then they go back again, and again. Last time I had to beg them to please stop! That was 2-3 years ago! I know shame on me. Bell's the one who messes it up. She's not allowed in Ken's car. He's afraid her nails will dig into his leather seats. She has never torn my Velor. |
