Linda... I'm pretty sure those are hawk chicks in your picture.
We keep tabs on the CT osprey so I'm pretty familiar with how they look. Last year they had 4!!! This is one of my pictures.

GEORGE DON'T YOU DARE TRY TO TAKE THOSE STAPLES OUT! If they were sutures, or clips maybe if you used good technique. They can stay in a little longer if necessary. Dab around the incision with ETOH, and it will keep it clean, dry and aid in the healing process.

Dont worry i have no intention of even attempting to remove them. I hate the sight of blood anyway. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS MY OWN. I am concerned however if i cant see doc monday that they will then have to remain in for a week longer for 17 days. Thats what my concern is. Normally when ive had surgical staples they normally came out after about a week

Those are positively osprey chicks, and if you go here you can see their whole last season in pix, from egg to chicks.

To get the detail of the moon is my goal... usually it is too bright.. I like the one I posted by Ron Hodges, whoever he is....

I have a cable guy here and he is the cutest thing ever...he's from Savannah, Georgia and keeps saying 'yes Ma'am' to my questions... his story about being here and going home soon takes too long... but hearing him tell it was fun.. his accent so cute.... you don't hear anyone here in California saying 'yes ma'am'.. thats for sure...

OK.. so if the hawk parents are at the nest, then they aren't stealing it from the Osprey... thanks Lori and Bea for your interest...
