Just had to tell you all that I tried the French Toast Casserole....only quite modified. We had it for brunch and it was very decadently delicious I actually changed it up quite a bit and it was still great. First of all, I used the thick cut Cinnamon Swirl bread from Trader Joes. Instead of standing the pieces up in the pan like Paula Deen did, I laid them in a double row and added the rest on a second layer on top of them. I couldn't quite bring myself to use all those eggs, so I used 4 eggs with an equivalent of 4 eggs worth of egg whites. Next, instead of half and half cream, I used vanilla soy milk, and then skim milk for the last cup. Unfortunately, I didn't have the pecans so used walnuts and I had to leave out the nutmeg, which I love, but forgot to buy . Lastly, I really couldn't force myself to use all that butter in the topping, so I substituted margarine and only used 1 stick instead of 2. Since I am using a gas oven here, which I find is always cooking things too fast...I set the temp at 325 since I was using a pyrex pan anyway and it was done in the 40 mins. Since DS was late arriving back here, mine got a bit browner but it still puffed up to at least 2 inches above the pan and it was really, really good. This recipe is one of those that you can change without totally destroying it :lol:I took this pic after it was out of the oven for at least 5 mins so it had already started to deflate a bit. Try it, you'll like it . |

Lala...I hear that "yes, ma'am" here are a lot but its usually a military man. We had a dad who was a retired marine and he kept saying that to me and "thank you, ma'am". I told him it wasn't necessary to call me ma'am and he said "yes, it is"..."shows respect" and he made his son say it to people, also. Awwww! Love a man that's so respectful of women

detail do you mean the craters on its surface? You may want to try to under expose the shot by a stop or two to see if that helps with the moon not appearing to be washed out. I know for shooting moon shots with a telescope to capture the depth of the various craters on the surface it is best NOT to shoot when the moon is full. If you look at alot of those moon shots you often see them waning or waxing from the full state. this is because when full the light shines right onto it unlike at an angle when at the various other phases thus allowing the photo to capture teh shadows in the craters. At least this was the way it was explained to me years ago when i had a highschool science elective of "astronomy" If needed i can root thru the site cellar here to see what sites i have on lunar photography and post them under the photo /video thread |

FWIW, i think somebody was talking about camera bags for thier gear. On the photo video thread board i have posted some examples of the types i use and also of another rather spiffy unit called a camera sling, with some of the shots you should see why i have what i call my "grab n go" bag if you saw the others |

Of course I always leave the peel on as it's healthier that way & I like to eat them! I'm trying to stick more to yams now though as they're even healthier!
